The tip of the spatula was too thick. I purchased and returned three spatulas, one to Amazon, and two to two local stores. It was suggested to me by an Amazon rep on the phone that I should try one made of Nylon. She was absolutely correct. From that date three or so years ago, every kitchen tool I have purchased until the past three weeks or so, I have purchased Nylon everything.So now, and I don’t know how it happened, I have been buying silicone everything. However, this whisk is Nylon and for a reason. I won’t go into the details of why I purchased a Nylon whisk rather than a Silicone whisk but I did and it was from the direction of a great authority, a scientist for the world’s largest chemical company who invented Nylon in the first place, that I purchased this Nylon whisk—and I am glad I did.Almost every kitchen bowl, pot, sauce pot, and other cooking utensil where a whisk is or should be used is non-stick because the non-stick of today is not your 1970s Teflon but rather carbon steel, or is non-stick that is made from crushed industrial diamonds, ceramics (my favorite), and so many others like me, made from fourth generation this, or fifth generation that. In other words, we have come a long way since Teflon hit the market many moons ago and for the better.But even now, these varying hard industrial-strength coatings of ‘non-stickness’ has to still be cared for if for no other reason than they will still scratch even thought they makers advertise they won’t. Don’t be taken in. If you use a utensil other than a wood spoon to stir the liquid in the pot, make sure it’s of Nylon, silicone, wood or other similar ‘soft’ material so not to mar, harm, hurt, scratch, or otherwise kill the $100 investment you have made.Specifically, this Nylon whisk is firm but not so much so that it won’t bend. It’s not too soft that it won’t mix ingredients well as expected. It’s perfect. The handle is inflexible as it should be so that you can control the whisk to prevent over-whipping or under-whipping which is a must when you need to control how much air needs to blend in with the liquids—well, usually liquids.This whisk is perfect in that it does all that, no more and no less. This is what makes it perfect along with the fact that the handle is perfectly balanced causing no hiring of the hand. Gave it 4 stars only because what I need is a smaller shaped whisk end to really get to the area where the bottom and side of my pan meet, for while making a white sauce. It's too big a shape for the small pan I use.
