YALE HSA APP ENABLED ALARM KIT (ROUND SIREN)

My Yale alarm system is very impressive, I brought it to replace an older system of the same make and the new system is amazing, it does everything it should and is so easy to work with using an app instead of a keypad and the remote keypad as backup. I can’t recommend this system enough I fitted it myself and I am not a computer genius and I think most people with basic knowledge could install this.

Everything went well until I couldn't get the siren to pair ..below is the response from yale customer support should you struggle , turned out I already did it by chance and not from the written instructions that are a bit naff Please follow the process below for the correct pairing procedure for linking the HSA siren to the hub. It's important to note that with this alarm system, the siren will not show in your list of accessories which can make things more confusing. • In the external siren turn all the dip switches to off and turn the siren off • Leave the siren off for 5 minutes • After 5 minutes turn the siren on and it should chirp • Then press and hold the learn button on the hub until the solid green LED turns to flashing green (usually within 5 seconds) • Then press the learn button in the siren for 1 second and the siren should chirp • Then press the learn button on the black hub for 1 second and the siren should chirp • Then press the learn button in the siren for 1 second and the siren should chirp • Then press and hold the learn button on the black hub until the flashing green LED turns back to solid green • The siren is now linked to the system as a device you can mount it and test – please note it will not show in in your device list as a connected device

I gave this system 1 star when first reviewed but the problem was that my android 9 phone was not supported. After getting a new phone with the latest android the system works as it should. So make sure before buying you have a new-ish phone and you download the Yale Smart living Alarm app not Yale Home. The setup is easy, connect central hub to your internet router, set up the app add the devices in it then the siren has a different procedure but it's easy and test and mount everything. I will get a second live siren on ebay and a few more door contacts. A few more things: -Disable the tamper alarm in the app for the siren when you mount it or via the keypad procedure in the book - You can open the PIR and mask with black tape the red led if you want them to be stealthy in the dark. - If you want to waterproof them for outside use , the PIR will work through plastic (bag, bottle etc) but not through glass. - Also the siren is not 120db more like 80db at 5cm so... - If you lose a temper spring you can adapt a pen spring to work or any other kind of small spring that you have in your shed or "Lost and found" box

Very disappointed with this Alarm it ticked all the boxes but sadly did not live up to expectations. after installing I was constantly bombarded with messages in my phone telling me jamming signal detection and I do mean bombarded it was constant whilst it was alerting me to this I checked the alarm by opening doors /window and it would not respond while ever it was receiving this signal. After lots of emails to Yale customer support (in their favour they do answer) I was told with this model you can’t turn off the jamming protection signal but don’t worry the alarm will still function as it should , IT MOST DEFFINATELY WILL NOT WORK WHILE IT IS RECEIVING THE JAMMING SIGNAL thus rendering this alarm as completely useless. Sadly and very disappointingly I have returned this item for refund. I have a different Yale alarm which I’ve had absolutely no problems with for years. Strangely reading the reviews nobody else seems to have had this issue. Update Yale customer service have ignored my last emails asking for their advice regarding this alarm

Bought this to replace old wired alarm system. Easy to install apart from siren. The instructions in the manual were incorrect but I was soon put right from nice man from Yale. Very pleased with the system. Works from the app on my iPhone. Reminds me to set the alarm when I leave the house and reminds me to disarm when I get home. Great value for the money.

As a security product I've had for almost a year, I've got to say, I'm not impressed. I get up to 8 jam/no jams per day (in a quiet residential street), and the app regularly needs re-starting before I can arm or disarm the system. As a security device, this is unacceptable as I feel if I need to depend on something, it needs to be very reliable - this is not. On the pro side, it's easy to fit, and I can tell who's setting/resetting it. Not much else.

The system is OK but the app is a bit clunky and awkward and sometimes refuses to log in. A really frustrating thing is that the entry and exit beeps produced by the hub box are very quiet (especially the higher frequency entry beeps). The low/medium/high volume settings in the app have no effect. I design electronic products and was puzzled to see that the hub box has no openings or grilles to allow sound out, so out of curiosity I opened the hub. The sounds are produced by a small buzzer/transducer glued to the inside of the lid with its opening pressed against the solid plastic - hence the sound is muffled and cannot escape! A simple hole could make a big difference! Awful design, Yale! So overall it's a bit disappointing.

Great value for piece of mind. Once all set up it's so easy to operate. I've purchased additional window and door contact sensors . They all work well and the siren is very loud .. the app gives you flexibility to set it up for home and away. Great value 👍

This is a tough review, because I can see that the product _would_ work well in normal circumstances. I think the three stars is justified though, since the flaw is at least partially an oversight of the manufacturer. After failing to register the hub in the app, I contacted support (who were great, by the way!). They told me the reason registration was failing, was because the hub is intended for the UK only. This means that whilst all the components theoretically work, you can't actually use them since there's no way to change the keypad PIN, let alone arm and disarm from the app or use any of the other features in the app.
