Exciting New Series for Jack Mars
Reid Lawson is a widower and father of two teenage girls, which are the focus of his life. He is a professor of European History at Columbia history at the start of this exciting new series by Jack Mars. There is a knock at the door late at night and he is taken from his home by three Middle Eastern men. They interrogate him for hours and find behind his ear a "memory suppression" chip beneath the skin. Once the chip is removed and he escapes (without any idea of how he possessed the skills) the race is on with his only clue being a phone number found at the scene.I have already given away far too much. Suffice to say that while reading Agent Zero, I was swept back to when I first enjoyed reading The Bourne Identity. Agent Zero is every bit as enjoyable as Robert Ludlum's signature novel. Well done Mr. Mars. There are already multiple Agent Zero stories available. I know how I will be spending the rest of my summer!

Comic book action.
If you can completely suspend your common sense over major plot issues and minor and inconsequential actions, and not think too much, or really not think much at all, you could give this book high marks (more stars). Otherwise this book might not be for you (and certainly, not for me).

People actually like this crap?
It's hard to believe this author is a bestselling one. The names of the characters alone are laughable. The writing style is boring as are the characters. I've read some poorly written books lately, but this one tops the list of mediocre.

Zero zeroed out
To me, it was just an average story. Didn’t really care about the main characters. Zero’s habit of zoning out when he should be paying attention irritated me. The problems I had were that he released the safety on his Glock. They don’t have safeties. I know that is minor. Major problem was sending his daughters off by themselves to hide from everyone. They are 16 and 14. Their aunt was there and available to continue to help but he tells the kids to ignore her. That made no sense to me. And he was hiding under his birth name and no one suspected that? He is teaching full time in New York and being sent on missions? How did the CIA contact him for each mission? How did he keep his teaching job with unexcused absences? “Students, read chapters 12 through 16 while I go kill some bad guys and save the world. There will be a test when I get home.” I will pass on any more in this series. My suggestion is that you do the same.

Fast & Furious Meets Superman
This series is going to be FUN! I am already hooked. This book had me hooked within the first few pages. Imagine your life as it is today, only to find you actually have lived a life so completely different. Things you never recalled ever having done you do so effortlessly as muscle memory kicks in. Details of another time start filtering in; you feel like you are two people. I read the book within a day. Who needs sleep when you can watch a college professor struggle with the knowledge he was one of the best CIA agents - and that he was listed as KIA? A must read...and now I am onto the next in the series Target Zero. Just the Luke Stone series, Jack Mars demonstrates a mastery of words and the need for the reader to be adept in speed reading. You will feel like you know Agent Zero (Kent Steele) on a very deep level.*I was provided this advance copy to read and provide an objective review. Objectively, I loved this book and would highly recommend this series.

Riveting
I was only about 5 pages into this book when my wife asked what it was about. At first I didn’t answer but then said give me a little more time and I will let you know. Hours later I was still reading. Words to describe could be gripping, intriguing, or spell binding. Either way, this was well written and a very good read.

An exciting thriller.
Based on previous review I was expecting this to be good & I wasn’t disappointed.I found the story to be surprisingly fast paced & energetic, with enough twists & turns to keen me entertained throughout. This book introduces the characters of detectives North & Martin and stands as a good first book in a thrilling series. An intriguing & original story and, as a free kindle download (at time or writing) should not be missed. Please take a second to hit the helpful button it makes taking the time to write the review worthwhile.

Poor writing, and poor storyline
A confusing story, to some extent dependant upon early books in the series for continuity. This rather weak story had too many charectors and is complex to the point of confusion. The morality of the chief protagonist is very dubious and there are many bodies resulting from gratuitous and unjustified violence. The book has many sub-editing errors; at times one could believe that the author was writing in a foreign language. It is sad to think that this book could be called a best seller but I suppose that is how publishers work, nowadays.

Excellent - a real page turner
I have read all of the Luke Stone books so was really looking forward to starting this new series about Agent Zero. It didn't disappoint! Full of action, a great story, a real page turner. I love the fact that he is a family man and how this affects his decisions. The premise is intriguing and makes for a very interesting read. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Hero to Zero to Hero
Excellent thriller. The tangled web of intrigue, an all seeing international terror organisation sees only one possible nemesis who could thwart their ultimate plan send teams to capture torture and kill the threat. One problem they are unaware the target doesn't know his true persona due to memory suppression they remove it during the torture unleashing one of the worlds deadliest agents. The story develops apace as all the best tales of conspiracy do.As our hero goes on a journey of discovery trying to ascertain the truth and most importantly who is he really and who and why were his memories altered.

Fast paced thriller
Maybe it's me, but I like the books I read to be at least slightly credible. Sorry, this didn't do it for me.The story was well written and raced along at a fast pace, but the underlying premise that a secret agent could live as a college professor with no memory of his previous life is totally unbelievable, especially when he has two daughters who apparently have no inkling about his previous vocation. It held my interest enough to make it to the end, but I almost put it down several times along the way.
