Marginal in the brightness dept
I built a 16' bridge with 4 posts on each side for the railing support. I wanted 8 postcaps but decided on these instead. The postcap lights were easy to install and look good, but they are very fragile. Maybe anything will be fragile. I don't get a lot of sunlight in the summer, so they don't illuminate for very long. When they do, the ambiance is great and you can see the bridge walkway. Hopefully, when the leaves fall the solar panels will get enough light to fully charge the batteries, if something doesn't knock them off beforehand. They fit perfectly on a 4x4 post, and have screws to hold them in place. It's easy to attach the lights to the baseplate. There's an LED bulb in the base that shines upward to a curved reflector that spreads the light downward.

Not very bright
We bought 2 packs of these for the front fence. If you want curb appeal, these are great. They look really nice during day. If you are looking for lighting a path with these, that's not going to happen. They are not very bright. They give off just enough light to let you know they are on, but that's it. I realize with solar lights they won't be as bright as regular electric lights but I have gotten dollar store solar powered path lights that are brighter than these are. Plus, hubby bumped into one about 2 weeks after install and it broke pretty easily.

Designed for a flat-top post
I expected thin plastic based on the reviews - it is adequate. It is designed for a flat top post and our wood posts have somewhat of a pyramid shape on top. I wanted to saw them off straight but my wife wanted to keep as-is, so I screwed the lights on top. Looks a little funny but OK. We put the lights on a north-facing deck that doesn't get much light, so the lights are pretty dim. We didn't mind too much about that, but would not have been happy if we expected significant light output.

Hit and miss on whether they even light up
I can deal with the low light by remembering it is an accent piece and not something to read a book with....although I would have preferred the latter.3 of the 8pcs do not work. I have tried light charging, changing batteries, checking the terminals, resetting the switch.....I am highly dissappointed that I screwed all this into my new deck....sealed it then when night came to see almost 50% of the lights were junk.UPDATE: the seller got ahold of me and shipped a new set to me immediatly. one of the lights is kind of flickering and possibly shorting out? but between the two sets they all work now. ill chalk this up to a bad batch. and i will rate the seller at 5 stars. and these lights are ok, not warm, but they do their job.

Great get, easy installation, did not need to use the enclosed screws.
The lights are great, just enough light. Used them on posts of privacy fence. They fit perfectly, don’t even need to use the screws. Only issue is that one bulb is broken so now we have 7 lights instead of 8. Going to try to replace bulb with one from something from the Dollar store. Overall I would highly recommend and may purchase more. Would have rated 5 star except for the broken bulb.

Lights didn't last very long; just a couple of months.
Lights were not very bright and didn't last long at all.

No issues, good marker lights and work just fine.

Performance enhanced by replacing batteries
I've had these lights installed since November 2021. This summer I noticed they didn't stay lit as long as they had in the past. I replaced the batteries with Amazon rechargeables and they work throughout the night again. All lights still work, but two seem to stay on all the time now which reduces their performance over night. They are simple to install and maintain. I've ordered replacements for the two lights that do not turn off.

Pretty good with some minor issues
TL;DR - Competitively priced and has decent performance. BYUS - bring your own screws. A bit flimsy. The LONG version - Cut off one star because of the somewhat flimsy base plates used to attach the light to the post - I have my doubt if that connection will resist a single Atlantic storm - and the extremely cheap screws provided, in exact count, with the kit.On that, save yourself some trouble and find some suitable, quality self tapping screws before you start as to not to have to deal with stripped, soft metal, cheap Phillips screw heads torquing out all the time (and swear a lot. Our swearing jar got expensive with this project).Even if you feel daring, you should get some anyway, since you just KNOW you will lose at least one screw in the grass, and there are no spares! Each light comes in three parts: The top body where electronics, solar panel and light resides, the "glass" attached underneath by four slotted tabs, and the base plate under that with two tabs to align and rotate to lock.Installation is easy: Screw in the plates, assemble body and glass (after pulling out the battery lock paper tab!), lock the top assembly into the base, and you're done.Light comes from the top and falls unto a four-sided reflective pyramid at the bottom on the glass. It makes the light nicely distributed 360 at the expense of making them a bit dimmer than other models - these are not reading lights!Sensors seem to be reasonably intelligent, turning the light on at the right moment for me, end of dusk. One light is under an outdoor automated flood and does not turn on, something to keep in mind with your installation.Eight lights was just the right amount to do the whole deck, and it's a definite improvement over the plain wooden post tops I had. Looks clean and good. No idea how long this will last - as I said, I have some doubts about the solidity of the attachments. I'd be surprised if they last more than 2-3 years with seashore conditions, and will actually be happy if they survive the Winter. But it was a fun and easy quarantine project, and did make the deck more welcoming, so all is well in the best of worlds!
