Smaller sizes have points but the larger sizes have rounded off points. They still leave a mark in the wood but not as clear as the smaller ones. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says on the tin *by J***Y on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 December 2019* Really handy item to have in the garage, to help with dowelling work where a jig isn't practical. Drill the holes wherever you want in the first piece of wood, pop these centre points in and then offer it up to the second piece of wood. Give it a tap with a mallet and you get nice sharp marks to show you where to drill the holes in the second piece of wood. I've used it a few times now with great results each time.The only ones I've used so far are the 8mm ones as these are the most common dowels.
