The ideas inside paint an amazing story, even if the terrible execution mars it to the point it's hard to see at first. I'll try to help you...(Spoilers ahead) There's three stories going on at the same time. Story 1: Townsfolk. Story 2: Moonshiners. Story 3: crazies. All three are bridged by the shopkeeper who runs the general store.In story 1 we see normal people feeling totally overwhelmed. Supplies are low, zombies are everywhere and crazies are eating people. They want to do something but are completely impotent to do anything because they cling entirely to the past. This clinging causes them to not be able to adapt at all. The shopkeeper does more for keeping peace than the mayor as he regulates the flow of supplies in the town. He knows things will fall apart...In Story 2 we see a moonshiner and his friends. As moonshine is all people can drink, moonshiners are respected. The moonshiner doesn't realize his friends are just there for power. After the moonshiner perfects his recipe, his friends foolishly kill him only to learn the recipe was never written down and they can't replicate it. They take over the still anyway seeking glory and power. Their moonshine sucks. The shopkeeper suspects foul play.In Story 3 we see a bunch of crazy teens and 20 somethings. They're drunk, high on zombie meat (!), and seem to have no regard for anything but their own enjoyment. As time goes by, however, a pattern emerges. They start to have a hierarchy. They start to have basic rules (ie: don't kill each other, kill the zombies). They have a home base that is starting to resemble a town. They are adapting to the changing world. The shopkeeper watches them warily. He sees the pattern and tries to warn the townsfolk. They don't listen.Over time the status quo flips. The townsfolk are unruly, turning on each other and killing each other. The last bastion of sanity was the shop keeper and he's gone. The crazies sweep in and mop up the stragglers in a coordinated attack. All the townsfolk are killed.The crazies inherit the land, unafraid of the zombies or their futures. They lie in the grass happily.The final lines sum it up.Girl: Whatcha feelin?Boy: No fear. Just love. ### ⭐⭐⭐ At least they tried to maintain a plot *by D***E on Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2019* Typical "take one" raunchy zombie apocalypse genre. The most positive thing about Moonshine Meat Market Mayhem is that unlike most other z.a. which have intentionally weak plots to draw the viewer even closer towards choppiness and roughness of the characters, here at least there's a politely easy plot to follow .. booze territorialism/production. ### ⭐⭐ Had potential, but didn't deliver *by F***M on Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2019* Sort of a Mad Maxian zombie apocalypse theme. Plenty of leather, tattoos, piercings, and gore. Gave 2 star rating for [SPOILER} cannibals that preyed upon the living and the dead. Beyond that, there's little good to talk about. It has one of (if not the) worst grief scenes I've ever seen in movies. The plot was hard to follow since it keeps jumping around to subplots that are barely connected at all. A crucial bit of information that might have helped comprehension was held back until 2/3 of the way through the film. I don't know if the director was trying to make some kind of artistic statement with how the movie was put together (random hoplessness in a post-nuke wasteland), or if some other factors were involved in making this film so bad. His (the director Chaz Buchanan) IMDB entry would suggest that he's had enough experience in filmmaking to put out a better product. Maybe I just don't get this style of cinema.
