Best packaging opener
Primarily use this at work as a grocery stocker. Safe design means I don't have to worry about accidentally leaving it somewhere that a kid or vandal can get ahold of and hurt somebody. Tape cutter blade works well on tape after some practice. The dull blade means its less likely to damage product within the packaging, but it can still score plastics, papers, and carboard if not careful. Hook blade works especially well on plastic wrap, both on the packages themselves and super effective when unwrapping a pallet of goods. The nose tip of one of my openers broke off and has a more rounded profile, this made it less effective at piercing plastic wrap but made it less likely to snag on products such as wrapped flats of soda. Blade material seems common steel, or at least the same kind of steel seen on razor blades. Rust prevention is low grade, and will rust when exposed to decent amount of moisture, but this does not significantly hinder use for cutting open tape and plastic wrap (it does however make it difficult to cut cardboard). Factory sharpness can easily slice through cardboard, but can dull easily. Blade has a tendency to collect bits of tape once dull, and can't be sharpened or replaced since its effectively cast into the handle itself. However, the lost cost of the tool makes up for the limitations of the blade.

The Pacific Handy Cutter DCF364 is a GREAT TOOL
Review for Pacific Handy Cutter DCF364, purchased September 2023: I first started using these while working at an Amazon Fulfillment Center. During irregular use, they last a long time (months). If you are using them everyday, throughout the day, you can burn through one a week. PHC DCF364 are sturdy, reliable and safe. I put old ones I had laying around to good use after starting a retail dock job. I've since handed them out to co-workers, or broken and used up all the old spares I had laying around, and have come to Amazon to purchase them for personal and work use. That's how handy this tool is for working with corrugated materials. NOTE: Occasional cutting of thin cardboard with quick strokes is doable, but the DCF364 is not good for regular or related cutting of normal eighth or quarter inch corrugated materials. The blade will regularly get jammed up and dull quickly. I suggest or recommend a Pacific Handy Cutter S7 or S8 series safety box cutter for regular cutting of thick walled corrugated materials.

Safer than a regular box cutter
These are cheap and great for opening boxes. The hook part can be used to open envelopes or those amazon bubble mailers while the tip slices through any tape on pacakges. They are also safer if you happen to be ADHD with no business being near a sharp blade opening packages. They are good quality with a sturdy handle and last quite a while.

Works great for cutting vacuum sealer bags and bag rolls for vacuum sealing.
I vacuum seal quite a lot of food using a chamber vacuum sealer. I use both vacuum sealer bags and roll stock to make custom sized bags for freezing foods. I have a couple of FoodSaver bag cutters that I have had quite a few years, and the blades in these cutters are beginning to get dull. I decided to look for replacement cutters, found these, and decided to try them. Although these cutters do work well for cutting plastic film from products wrapped in shrink-wrap, they also work well for making plastic bags shorter and for cutting custom freezer bags from roll stock. To do this, simply fold the bag or roll where you want to cut it, insert this cutter in the fold, and zip it across to cut the bag to the length you want. I tried using the box cutter on this tool, and it doesn't work at all. Since the box cutter is the back of the blade it isn't sharp, and doesn't cut. So, we will continue using the conventional box cutter for this purpose. In my opinion, this cutter is well worth the price to cut my vacuum freezer bags. It's ;nice that this cutter has a hole at the top for hanging. I keep it convenient on a frig magnet hook to keep it handy. I hope this review was helpful for you. I will update this review if my opinion changes.

Handy little gadget. Protect yourself and your stuff!
I've been using these things for years now. After enough times cutting myself or the contents inside a cardboard box when opening with a utility knife, I finally found this product. When it comes to opening cardboard boxes and plastic mailing bags, this is a fast, safe, and easy solution. Highly recommended!

Nice cheap cutter
Used this to replace my rusty vacuum bag cutter, this is perfect for clean quick cuts of films and bags, and the handle is much better than the tiny keychain-sized one i was using.

Happy Hooker is Safe
Safe? Yes Disposable? Definitely Lifespan? 500 to 1000 wrapped pallets Would rather use a knife body that uses replacement blades. Bought 100 blades about 2 years ago and still have 20 or so. Cost of body 5 or 6 bucks 100 blades 12 bucks Body made by same co. That would buy about 6 of these.

This is a good safe parcel and wrap cutter. I use it much more for the blunt metal 'blade' at the top for opening parcels than for the protected wrap cutter. A great tool, but I can't help thinking that this should be cheaper, regardless of brand. I've had about three of these now, replacing when lost.

Não cortou bem nem mesmo no primeiro uso. Ele é grosso e tem um design que dificulta em muito a sua utilização. Um canivete é muito mais versátil e dá de dez a zero nele.

I enjoyed the first one enough that I ordered it again after I lost the first one. I use it in kitchens unpacking products and keep it in my pocket. It has become as important to me as my thermometer.
