Dakota Analog Mini Cage Clip Pocket Watch with LED Flashlight

I ordered this upon strong reviews from others who had purchased the Dakota mini clip microlight fob watch. I have had it about one month now and I really like it. It is even better quality than I thought. Dial is easy to read, I like the second hand and while I generally don't clip it to anything and instead just shove it into my pocket, the clasp is well made and this watch looks durable. I haven't used the microlight much but its a nice feature to have. I think most will find this an excellent value for the money. Exceeded my expectations.

My watch just arrived here in sunny Kandahar, Afghanistan. It exceeds my every expectation. Materials: Extremely durable casing, attractive finish to the face and the exterior (not tacky, as so many in this price range are), sturdy clip. Features: The microlight is red. I might have preferred a simple white, but I guess they were going for the tactical map reading idea - it's advertised as a "military" image. All the same, it's plenty bright even in a pitch black room - no problems walking around and not bumping into things. And you probably could read a field map with it too. :-) Value: This watch is a steal for the price. Even watches $20-40 more in price are shoddy in comparison. And then - I gotta mention it - the box. Even the box is amazing. The watch comes in a dual clasp sealed weather resistant plastic casing that can be reused for any number of things (in my case, clasped to the outside of my assault pack to keep small items dry and accessible.) Shipping: Well packed, and fast - beat the required delivery date by weeks. Buy with confidence dear readers - this one won't disappoint you. I wanted a low cost belt loop/pocket watch because I hate typing with a wrist watch on, one that I could use on deployment, expecting that anything I bought for this price would probably not last beyond a year. I see many years of use out of this watch (and its very special box) to come.

Love these watches. I hate wearing one on my wrist and it’s not always convenient to pull out and hold a phone. Clips on a belt loop out of the way but convenient.

This Dakota MiniClip watch is the perfect solution to those times when wearing a wristwatch isn't practical or desirable. I found the size to be perfect, yet adequate for my aging fifty-something eyes. It's surprisingly heavy, given its size, but not to the point of being a distraction. I've used this watch twice a week for the past 8 weeks and it appears to be holding up quite well. The clip remains strong with no weakening of the spring. The bezel still looks great, with only a couple of minor scratches from normal use. I'm a bit picky about how things look and this watch still looks as great today as the day I unpacked it from it's nifty box. The red LED light is a novelty, but not particularly useful. It's a "nice to have" feature that might prove its value some day. I simply haven't found a reason to use it, yet. Overall, the Dakota MiniClip watch will not disappoint those who are looking for an inexpensive alternative to the traditional wristwatch. Looks great and works as described. A solid performer for the money.

My husband loves this little Fob Watch. He doesn't care for a regular watch, but this watch he can clip right on his belt loop and get the time whenever he wants it.

This watch is the perfect size. I read some reviews that you can't read it in the dark. Hog wash! I just put my hand in front of the light and it reflects with plenty of light to read the watch. Also if you just flash a white light on it it is illuminated for quite a while. It clips on my belt loop and I hardly even know it's there. I had a larger watch that clips on and it kept hitting things and finally broke. This watch does not hit anything and looks new after a month plus one week in the pouring rain hunting in Western Washington. If and when this watch finally dies I am getting another one just like it! Also the little red light is plenty bright to find your way around at night or locate something you can't see in the dark.

Very nice watch, however the movement battery went dead in less than a year ( there are separate batteries for the light and for the movement). Not knowing there are 2 separate batteries, I contacted the company to ask about a repair, I was told I could ship the watch to the company and they would replace the battery for $24.95, which was half of what the watch cost. Not my idea of good customer service. I pried open the case and replaced the battery myself.

This is actually my second mini clip carabiner watch. The first one I had for about five years. The face had started to become pretty scratched up from my bumping against things like when working on the car etc. but it was still working fine until I forgot to take it off and went swimming with it one day. I'm not positive if that was what killed it but it did stop working about three days later. I ordered this replacement watch and will not go swimming with this one. I work outside in the winter a lot and find a wrist watch doesn't work well because I have to pull up the sleeve of my jacket in order to check the time. With the carabiner watch I keep it on my belt hoop and just lift my jacket a bit and I can see the time. Very convenient and they look great too!

As soon as I saw the box I was pleasantly surprised. I wasn't expecting much for 45 dollars but when I saw the aluminium case it comes in and pulled it out and felt the weight of it, I knew I made a good purchase. The red light it emits is incredibly bright too! I highly recommend this watch.

My husband liked the watch but after two weeks the light didn't work any more.

Really useful for walking and cycling, but unfortunately it stopped working after 4 months. There does not appear to be any customer support in the UK, so in practice no warranty . Also, there is no advice about replace the battery yourself and again no service offered in the UK. Shouldn't really be sold under these conditions.

It’s a great watch. Just be careful of the glass on the dial. I just shattered my last one.

Great watch for work looks cool and is well made. I like the bash guard over the watch face however it does obscure the the numbers, better than cracking the glass though.
