The plot was good, not just fluff. This was some of the best written chemistry between the ML and FL I have read! I highly recommend it.

Good read and author made the story flow. Lots of steamy heated moments and a good ‘hate to love’ story. Enjoyed the detailed romance parts.

Although it appears this woman lives in opulence, she has had to surround herself in armor to survive. Until an unexpected hero sweeps her off her feet and she finds they are more connected than she could ever imagine. The author kept the story hoping and the intensity high as she moved us from steamy scene to steamy scene. But it wasn’t just the heat of passion that filled the pages, there’s greed, betrayal, friendship, and a love to stand the test of time. The author did a fantastic job of bringing everything together creating a brilliant read that I might just have to enjoy again and again. Well until her next book catches my attention anyway.

While this book was very interesting and very sizzling, I had no idea what was happening half the time. The conclusion was very vague and the ending seemed rushed and awkwardly written. It could have been much much better with a little more thought. I didn’t understand why half the things happened in the book the way they did. The author was so focused on developing a relationship between the main characters that everything else flopped. And tbh the relationship seemed rushed too. Just..it took a while to read the book and yet nothing made sense.

She is an artist and daughter of Senator Drummond Hargrove. Her father uses her in social settings to enhance his reputation and image. Her father is a greedy and corrupt politician with a gambling habit and a penchant for underage girls. He aspires to be president. She and her father are not close. Dominick is the son of Giodarno Lugiano, the head of the New York mafia. Dominick is groomed to take over the leadership. Dominick is attracted to Caroline from the first glimpse of her. He decides he wants her for his own and goes about accomplishing that. Drummond owes a huge gambling debt to the Lugiano family and sells his daughter to Dominick to pay his gambling debt. What happens to Caroline? Will she and Dominick fall in love? What role does Drummond play in their journey? You must read this book to discover what unfolds.I enjoyed this well-written romantic suspense. Ms. Stone cleverly uses a two-prong plot. One prong is their romantic journey. The second prong is one of suspense and mystery. I appreciated the rich conversational and internal dialog revealing Caroline and Dominick’s backstories. I liked the use of a dual point of view to illuminate their vulnerabilities. Lastly, Ms. Stone’s use of descriptive language paints vivid and memorable scenes. Some of the memorable scene showcases the struggle for power between Drummond and Dominick. These scene pulls readers into the scene giving them an eye-witness view. This was a captivating read. Well done, Ms. Stone.

*First time reading author**KU readSo I was trying to find something to read, and as always I was drawn to a cover and a blurb. No surprise it was a mafia read. I had never read Piper Stone before but the blurb sounded good so I jumped right in.Caroline is a young woman that is used as a pawn between her father and Dominick. All she wants to do is be on her own and live her life. With her father being a Senator she always has to be careful of whom she is associated with. Little did she know that her father is working with the devil himself.Dominick is owed a lot of money and the only way he is going to get it is by making a deal with the Senator. He will take the Senators daughter and erase everything the Senator owes. The Senator is a dirty little man and does the exchange. But there is so much going on behind the scenes that Caroline gets caught in the crossfire.His as Payment is a decent book that kept you guessing and wanting more. There are some editing issues that the author should go through and correct.

Liked the characters and the plot. Good flow of the storyline. Never lost interest. Would definitely recommend it to friends.

Dominick is the son of a mafia kingpin who has become obsessed with the beautiful Caroline, daughter of a US senator about to announce his candidacy for president. But Dominick knows quite a few of the senator’s dirty secrets. In exchange for turning Caroline over to Dominick, Dominick will keep quiet. Caroline hates Dominick and fights him tooth and nail. But she guiltily finds herself overwhelmingly attracted to him. This is no run of the mill mafia romance. The plot is intricate with twists and turns I didn’t see coming. It is over the top passionate and steamy. Can Caroline find the man so in need of love beneath all the layers of anger and hate? I did not want to put this book down and hated to see it end. Piper Stone knows how to captivate the reader and spin the story into life. Fantastic read!

Dominic the heir had worked out payment from the Senator, who had declared he was running for President, Caroline’s father, only she didn’t know yet that he wanted her, it was love and hate at first sight. The Senator had some nasty secrets and Dominic held the evidence as well as his gambling debts. Full of love, hate, sex, punishment and domination. Great storyline with a surprise ending.

What Dominic wants Dominic gets, no matter how he has to do it.Threats, violence, blackmail, bribery, nothing is out of the question in his dark and dangerous world.Caroline is the object of his desire, lust, control and domination. Taken to settle another's debt against her will, there will be coercion, seduction, discipline, BDSM, murder, mayhem, mafia, deception, lies, revelations, secrets, danger and a love that defies all the odds!

Amazing great story from start to finish and steamy sex is great too but romantic too. I would recommend this it’s a great read

Captured my interest right away and kept it. Lots of great sex. Loved Dominic's desire for Caroline it's so hot and over the top, which makes this amazing love story. Great chemistry. She was fiesty. A bit dark but I loved it. The story is great and would make a great movie. Loved it. v

Caroline is as disobedient as she is beautiful and Dom craves to teach her, tame her and keep her but there are evil forces at work determined to destroy not only the Lugiano empire but any chance at happiness for Dom. Another sexy Mafia Prince is brought to his knees by a strong woman. Another "Sons of Darkness" falls. I thoroughly recommend this hot dark romance that I read for free with Kindle Unlimited.
