... install was crazy difficult and I thought I would hate the end result
The install was crazy difficult and I thought I would hate the end result. After several months -- I have changed my mind. It works fine - although this requires some hand eye skills for sure. Price was a bit high for the level of difficulty to integrate.

GENIUS PRODUCT!!!!!!
If you are looking for the answer to your Apple Product prayers this is it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT I repeat DO NOT buy anything else!! This will change your life because GOD knows it changed mine...My husband and I have a lot of apple devices and this charger problem is one huge pain in the ass. We always spend about 80-100 bucks on these damned chargers and were gonna switch to Microsoft because of these problems until i bought another official apple product from amazon and had it shipped with Fray Fix and BAM!!!! No more strain, stress and sadness of buying expensive looking and costing chargers that have cheaply fraying cords! I have had my Fray Fix since February of 2015 and i must say that even with the "lube and tape" instructions (which actually makes since when you look at how it's supposed to go on and fit so people stop being babies and grow up..it's called DIY) it took all of ten seconds for me to get it on. Be easy because it's silicone so yes it's durable and will protect but it's a soft material so being harsh with it WILL cause ripping. I LOVE MY FRAY-FIX and I will never give it up for anything!! (ALL STUPID PEOPLE DISREGARD) WORD TO THE WISE: If you do not enjoy wasting money but RATHER save money then this is the product for you. If you like to spend more than you save then do not take heed. I like the fact that the silicone is an insulator for the kind of heat the charger puts out. Kudos to the genius brains@Fray-Fix!

so disappoint
I got my Fray Fix Combo Pack in the mail last week, and was looking forward to trying it out. The instructions were pretty clear, but the installation procedure didn't work very well for me. I did the main part first, the side that goes on the "brick". All went well up until the crucial point of pulling the plug end - wrapped up in teflon tape covered with lube - through the tiny hole. It made it through the first part, but the force required to get the thickest section through tore the little rubber sleeve apart midway through. So it's missing part of the strain relief, but it's better than nothing. The second part didn't go even that well. Learning from my first experience, I pulled the cable end through the strain relief tube much more slowly. But then when it got to the thick part, the tape and toothpicks ripped off the cable end. That left the cable stuck inside the rubber fray fix tube. The only way I could get it out was to cut it out, ruining that end permanently. So out of two strain reliefs in the combo pack, I successfully got half of one to work. I guess I'm batting 0.250. That's not good enough for a glowing review. Yes, I used pliers - not my teeth. Yes I used plenty of lube - enough to make any porn actress quite comfortable. I think the problem is that the rubber used just isn't stretchy enough for the current type of power plug. It would work fine for the old style plug, where the contacts are parallel to the wire. But with the new kind, there needs to be a better design.

I like it. It does what it is supposed to do. I bring my power cord on the road a lot for work and this has definitely helped it not get banged up as much. It is a little tricky to put on (comes with lube and Popsicle sticks to help with the installation). I was able to do it, but my parents would probably need some help installing it. I would have given it 5 stars if it was easier to put on. I still recommend buying it.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Use it for prevention! Use it after your cord frays
This is the best invention I've ever seen! Well, among the best. Definitely found it at the right time. While looking for a replacement charger for my MacBook Pro, like many mac users, my cord had "frayed". So bought one for the new charger I purchased to keep it from fraying in the first place, and was so happy, had to buy a second one for the original charger so I can use it now too! If you have a MacBook and your cord has or hasn't frayed, highly recommend....It was fun to figure out how to put it on the cord, it comes with instructions, a Popsicle stick, the ever popular strip of duck tape, and lube. The rubber is substantial, but pliable. I had an audience watch me put the second one on...because they couldn't imagine how I could.Kudos and thanks to the brilliant mind that invented this thing. I'm telling all of my friends!

Useless
I should have known I was in trouble when the kit came with toothpicks, duct tape and . . . lubrication. I'm not kidding. This is how you're supposed to get the thing on the cord. The instructions even advocated pulling it through with your teeth.I used pliers instead of my teeth and managed to get the part on the brick end, but it fits very loosely. When I tried getting the mag end on (where it connects to the computer), the stretchy material ripped and became useless. I'm lucky I didn't ruin the cord to my brand new laptop.Save your money or get some Sugru.

I was so happy! I've had my mac cords fray and/or burn ...
Extremely difficult to put on! I was scared to death that I was going to break my cord putting it on. But after I got it on, I was so happy! I've had my mac cords fray and/or burn on me twice now. So far, this has been great! And I love that the color matches my computer's cover!
