Energy efficient, excellent value for money...
Having seen other reviews, I think it’s important that you manage your expectations a little before judging this product. Anyone expecting more from a £13 set of LED lights will be disappointed no matter what product they buy!Anyway, moving on - as you’ll see from my studio photo - I love a bit of RGB lighting, me...So coming at this from the perspective of someone who has tried dozens of other products, these are the pros:PRO: These come in black - barely any other brands even make RGB 5050 lights in black.PRO: USB power means you can connect multiple chains to a powered USB hub (preferably one with “smart-charging”) instead of taking up a handful of mains sockets - and then you can use the hub buttons as light switches!PRO: At 5V (instead of the mains voltage of 12V) these use less than half the amount of electricity - add the USB connection to that and, in my opinion, these are much safer and less likely to over-heat or cause power surges than mains connected strips.PRO: The detachable bridge connections (the parts you can cut with a pair of scissors) are 1:1 with each LED bulb - none of my other mains LED lights work like this and it’s often hard to get them the exact length you desire otherwise.PRO: If you already have a draw full of RGB LED connection kits and extensions for your 12V mains lighting like I do, you can use the same connections for these strips (although, don’t try and connect 12V lights or 12V power supplies to 5V lights, obviously).PRO: The remote control seems to work even if the receiver is under a table or behind you!? I don’t quite understand why this is, but you have to be in direct line-of-sight to adjust my other lighting strips. Now, here’s what you don’t get for your £13...CON: The lights do indeed become dimmer as the length of each chain increases - especially if you split the circuit in 2 (or 3,4,5 etc) places, to send each chain of lights heading off in different directions.CON: In my photo you’ll notice that the top set of lights near the ceiling are dim and creamy coloured - these are actually supposed to be white - BUT I have divided the sequence 3 times before the power reaches that top strip, so this is where the limits of a 5V 1A product come in - there’s simply not enough electricity flowing through, but again, these are the limits of USB bus-powered products in general and not specific to this product.CON: White is more like “Mint Green” even when fully powered. In my experience, “white” never means true white with RGB lighting anyway however - but nonetheless, this is a genuine aspect that might disappoint you.CON: These ARE NOT WATERPROOF... and aren’t advertised as such either - but, I’d be very hesitant to use these lights anywhere near a coffee table with drinks on, or anywhere near your kitchen too in all honesty.CON: The lack of waterproofing also means the bulbs are more likely to get damaged as you’re fixing them up, or say, if you brushed past them with your jacket on for example. However, with the 1:1 connection joints, it’s really incredibly easy to cut out the dodgy light section and reconnect the strips using a connection kit - and it’ll only be about 3-4 cm shorter too.So there you go, in comparison to the other bank-breaking 12V LED strips you can opt for, you lose a little mileage from the down-graded power but level-up with ease of use and versatility. Stay safe folks!

Does the job
The media could not be loaded. The lights are easy to set up, stick really well and have made my upcycled table look amazing, would be a 5 star but the remote and receiver wire are crap to be honest, worked for a few hours then wouldn't work, luckily I still had a receiver wire and remote from the previous led lights I had so now they work properly. Other than that slight problem they are brilliant, also lights don't come with any waterproof cover

Waste of money
Got it as a present to my daughter; and we placed around her bedroom door... she was very happy with it! Until; after only 1 month of use... it stopped working!!! The glue is so strong; that we cannot even remove it without ruining the wallpaper!!!! Absolutely crap... DO NOT BUY IT

Versatile and easy to install
Easy to use and install. Rapid delivery. Range of colours to suit all tastes and modes to use. Used it on a TV stand and really smooth to use. Bought as a cheaper alternative to fixed LED lights meant for TV at £70. This is far and away better.

Not compatible on all TVs tried and tested with my AV installations company
Not compatible on certain brands of TV I've tried a set on 2 Sonys and an LG and both times it stated on screen that it was detecting a high powered usb device or similar which needed to be removed I've never had this issue with any other types and I install a lot with the business I'm in

Flimsy wiring
Very flimsy. Wiring is incredibly delicate and if not a certain way you will lose half of the colours due to the connection and wiring. I’d recommend going with a more reliable brand and paying the extra as this is a permanent installation due to the one time adhesive.
