Worked very well, easy replacement process, arrived quickly

Item as described and fit my EGO trimmer perfectly. Installation was fairly straight forward. Quality and value seem to be good. Has functioned perfectly the first few times used.

Thrilled with this new trimmer head, it makes weed eating so much easier. The original head was a complete hassle so we avoided using it, this one rethreads so easily.

I would give this 5 stars if they were more durable. Only seem to last 1 mowing season and I'm not rough on them. Line sticks quite a bit inside and that's using ego or other brand lines, straight or twisted. Need a thick bump cap and better feeding. Could be cheaper also.

As a big fan of EGO products (mower, blower, etc.), I needed this upgrade for my ST1502SF trimmer. My old head lasted 7 years, and this new one is a huge improvement. Installation was simple and, best of all, it no longer requires a deep socket wrench for removal. The Rapid Reload feature is the real reason to get this. It's so much easier to load than lining up the old, rubbed-off lines. The only small hiccup was that the included twisted-pair string was hard to wind and didn't tap out easily. I suspect it will work perfectly with standard single-strand line. Bottom Line: A much-needed and easy-to-install upgrade. Highly recommended for any compatible EGO trimmer owner.

Rubbish. Only 3 months old and the casing has completely separated from the head. The original head wouldn’t feed properly and was a devil to load. This new one was fine for about a month when it became difficult to load, then wouldn’t feed when bumped, and repeated bumping probably caused it to crack. Not to mention I had to buy a special oil filter type removal tool just to install this new one because the nut couldn’t be removed. Trimmer is fine but this is unacceptable for the cost.

Excellent replacement head, simple replacement. Makes an easy job of winding back the string cord. Suggest you get the EGO braided cord rather than a solid string. We found it works better. With my amount and pattern of use, I expect I will need to replace the head every 3 years or so. Be sure to get an EGO head and not one of the other cheaper ones that take much more time and trouble to reload.

After about 4 years of use my Ego trimmer the string started jamming inside the head so I decided to purchase this replacement head. It arrived from Amazon the next day and I installed it on my trimmer. I did have a difficult time removing the old head as the 9/16" deep socket nut was locked up tight and difficult to get good leverage on it to loosen. I finally did get it off and replaced this new head quickly. Loading the unit with the16 ft. of new string did seem easier than the old unit and it does seem like a new and improved design. I used it only once so far edging my yard sidewalks and such and am very happy with it. And I am very pleased that Ego did provide this new and improved design so I won't have to replace the whole trimmer. Well worth the money and very happy with my purchase so far. If it ever gives me trouble or starts tangling the string inside the head I will update my review but so far so good. I recommend purchasing this if you have jamming issues like I did.

Great replacement head. Easy to assemble, attach and load the line.

This is a good replacement for the trimmer head housing on older model Ego ST1500SF string trimmer. Fairly simple to install and easy to load the line (manual load but all you do is turn the head by hand until everything is loaded, easy). Would prefer these replacement parts be cheaper, but it is what it is, and couldn't find it cheaper anywhere else in Canada.

EGO ordering instructions leave a lot to be desired. First unit did not fit and had to reorder correct head. After 3 weeks, still waiting to receive return shipping label. There is no way to speak with a representative. Several email messages and still no action. It is a good product but unfortunately when return is required, the system sucks.
