ZEAK 3500 lb. Advanced 12V DC Electric Winch, Off Road Waterproof, Synthetic Rope, Mount, for Sports car, ATV

The package arrive undamaged, always a good sign.I supplied pictures per unpacking.One correction to note, the description states "12.3' handle bar rocker", that's incorrect, the rocker switch cable lead is 8 ft.The rocker switch cable connection to the control box is a threaded connection, so there's no possible error in making the correct connection.I measured the synthetic cable at 49 ft & 6 inches. The cable is NOT bolted to the spindle, its looped through a hole in spindle and the cable is wound over the lead exposed on the opposite side, which is where the 6 inches is lost.The power supply cable leads from the control box to the battery are 67 inches.The electrical leads are labeled and the motor connections are color coded, so completing the wiring is straight forward.Very important note: the "circuit breaker" provided does not match the description picture, they provide an inline fuse configuration using two 40 amp fuses in parallel, but the connections are exposed and could easily short out if not protected.The mounting bolts are galvanized and only 5 bolts were provided, not the 8 shown in the pictureThere are 4 mounting holes on the winch body, but there are only three 1.5" bolts supplied..I will replace all the bolts with 5/16" x 3/4" long stainless bolts to mount the winch the to mounting bracket.No hardware is supplied for bolting the mounting plate to the intended end use.The electrical terminal connectors are too small to fit the mounting studs on an automotive battery.The retrieve speed is much faster than the spool out speed.I added a picture per page in the manual describing the Duty Cycle, very important information.I contacted the seller and they responded within 12 hrs offering corrections, but the parts would take weeks due to the fact all parts are shipped from China.I'll update this review in a month, the product will see extensive use with hunting season starting.Sept 30, 2019 update :I've used this winch to load/unload my 14' AL boat onto my truck 6 times, no issues with the winch.I added a picture showing how I "contained" the inline fuses, I used a simple PVC single gang duplex and then added a "Blank" duplex cover, total cost $0.75. Its not water proof by any means but it won't short out on the truck bed.

Using more than 1 year in extreme condition and work perfect

I got this winch to raise and lower a Warn snow plow mounted on an ATV. The plow came with an ELECTRIC PLOW LIFT (p/n 4600) that of course failed right on schedule. Warn wanted $200 to replace it. I got this winch instead. I mounted it up on the front rack on a plate I built out of 1/4" steel. Works great to raise and lower the snow plow. I would be hesitant to use the full capacity of the winch to pull with it mounted on the rack like that.My remote seems to work great. One thing not mentioned in the instructions is putting shrink tubing on the fuse. The shrink tubing was in the box, but not mentioned in the instructions. I used a torch to shrink it, but got a few holes from too much heat. I used hot glue to seal them up. No shorts so far. I hope this lasts longer than the Warn electric plow lift.

This winch is way better than Harbor Freight the equivalent winch. This winch is the best unit I could find for installation on a sailboat trailer. It's bolted on the trailer winch stand and is connected to a lawn tractor battery which is also installed on the winch stand.Pro's for the Zeak winch:1. Synthetic rope easier to handle than wire cable.2. The corded control switch is robust, simple and easy to connect.3. The remote control is a good size to hold and appears to be waterproof.4. The supplied hardware and fairlead are all excellent quality.5. Remote control is great for single handed mast raising and boat ramp loading.6. It works great in my boat trailer application.7. Product support is excellent! I needed help using the remote control. The response to my email was quick and totally addressed by issue. They told me that the up and down keys must be pressed together for 3 seconds to turn the remote control ON or OFF. Problem solved!Cons:1. The included circuit breaker assembly was too big to fit in the battery box. I will relocate the circuit breakers to a separate waterproof box.2. The winch control box probably has a small continuous current draw from the remote receiver. On a trailer which may sit unused for a long time, this will drain the battery. I will add a heavy duty kill switch to the breaker box to stop all current draw when winch is not in use.I will definitely purchase a second winch for installation on my other sailboat trailer.

Looks great! Haven't had much snow to test it properly yet but it was primarily purchased for plowing.How easily it is to install will depend on the vehicle you are mounting it on and may need additional hardware and wiring pending individual set up. Instructions could be a little clearer but overall we figured it out.The synthetic rope and remote makes things a little more user friendly for certain use.The free sticker was a nice touch. I installed this winch on a 2013 Polaris Sportsman 500 ho . This ATV does not come with mounting bracket , so I ordered the specific fit box bracket that is required to mount any winch to this Quad . Once I had received the mounting bracket I realized that it requires a 4 7/8”aluminum Hawes Fairlead for synthetic rope which was only $20 more. Once mounting bracket was installed everthing else bolted right up to it ! I did not need the mounting bracket that came with winch package .Winch comes with everything to mount and wire it ! Once winch was mounted I installed the waterproof control box with the solenoid in it to the rad bracket up in the front of machine . Lots of wire to mount handlebar rocker switch to machine and lots of wire to reach battery which is near the very back of my machine . Included is a good sized circuit breaker inline to battery ,along with a large piece of heat shrink cover for it once the wires are attached ! It has a bag of hardware that comes with winch as well . I really liked the wireless remote control that comes with it , you just have to hold both the in and out button on remote to turn it on and off again !When you get it all installed your supposed to disengage the clutch on winch and pull out all but the end of synthetic rope out and wind it up with about a 500 lb pull on it so that you can wind up the rope on spool correctly and tight , I used another quad about 50 ft away to hook rope to and pull other quad in neutral towards winch to wind up tight and in order. I haven’t been out with another quad yet to check out the winches pulling power but I will yet and I’ll update this review at that time ! So far it’s Great !

Excellent quality for the price, works perfectly for the little project I bought it for, just be careful with wireless remote, buttons we're a little sticky.Co worker took one look at it and wants to buy one for himself

It's pulled me out of a few situation and lasted a winter plowing the driveway, no complaints yet!Recommended!

Winch is installed on side x side. Happy so far.
