It's the beginner mouthpeice
It will train your armature properly and help you develop skills. Start with this mouthpeice in your practice regimen and work your way up to a wider opening. A #4 favors a 2 or 2.5 but a 1.5 is suitable for beginners.

Great for beginners!
If you're a beginner, this is the mouthpiece for you. I have the Vandoren TL3 Optimum (which came with my tenor sax) and was having trouble hitting the low C and Bb. Once I tried this mouthpiece my troubles were over. It is pretty free-blowing and sounds mellow. I highly recommend!

Great mouthpiece for the budget. If you aren't a professional but need a good mouthpiece, get this. It's great. Not perfect, but great. Only get it if you're doing traditional music, not jazz or blues.
