I bought this item because I work for a commercial cleaning company and I feel like we were changing out our vacuum bags way too often so this allows me to check the CFM on our vacuum cleaners to determine when the bag needs to be replaced due to air restrictions.

This device is easy to hold and use but...it could be improved if there was a base that it could fasten to that would allow it to swivel to accommodate movement by wind direction like an anemometer on a wind vane. In other worlds, a fin that would direct the anemometer to the proper wind direction. This is a hand held device. That means that you and your aching arms outstretched in a fixed position have to stand there positioned precisely in the right direction to capture the most accurate wind speeds. It gets tiresome waiting for a wind gust. One option is to have a mini windsock included to help determine the precise wind direction. a stick with a ribbon would do. But an easy to fabricate accessory would make this and most of the others far better devices. A very inexpensive convenient light device would be a great addition for sports like drones, kites, rc planes and copters.

I decided to buy the model with the barometer. It’s off a full 5.0 hg, but what do you expect for the price. Altitude is off on average some 450-500 feet. That’s the worst news. And altitude is livable for my use. However the wind turbine is incredibly sensitive I would give it a 5+. If the rating scale offered graduated marks I would have rated it overall 3.5 for my use. I use it for long range shooting 300-800 yards.

I do a lot of target shooting and wind speed and direction are important factors for accuracy - there are many ways to determine direction but speed has always been something I had to guess - this little handheld(or tripod mounted) anemometer has taken out the guesswork - everyone who shoots targets or hunts should have one of these! - comes with a mini-tripod and a soft carry case small enough to carry in a day pack for hunting or setting to the side of a shooting bench - i'm sure there are many other uses as well - amateur meteorologists would find it a necessary tool as well - I for one am totally happy with my purchase - I would definitely buy this band again1

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Works great

The wind meter is poorly made. The buttons are inconsistent when you press them. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t. Additionally the accuracy is to be determined. With a consistent velocity the meter reads anything from “Max” to still. Plus, the backlight on the LCD is on for a very short amount of time before you have to turn it back on again. If your using this to measure any velocity over “light breeze/still”, I highly recommend another product.

I use this as a last second reading of wind speed when I'm preparing to launch my drone, & for that purpose it performs admirably. If I have any issue it's that once it's set to MAX or AVG it will not exit from these so I'm forced to keep it in AVG mode to get usable data. The downside to that means the measurements take more time to calculate & display as it measures the speed as an average rather than current speed at the moment it measures. But other than that it works for me, & after a time I may upgrade this review.

Loved the price, if you need high accuracy this isnt the one for you. If you just need ballpark accuracy, it does what you need. Its strong too, I didn't have the wrist band attached and dropped it off a 8ft ladder, still works. Great little tool for the toolkit.

Works as advertised. Small. Easy to read and operate. Good value for the cost. I would recommend. I can’t comment on accuracy as I don’t have anything to compare it to. But even if it’s a little off, it’s better than not knowing the wind speed at all! I trust it to be fairly accurate. I like it. Thanks.

Molto carino e utile

El anemómetro tiene una gran sensibilidad lo cual no esperaba. El termómetro parece funcionar bien. Valoro mucho que la pantalla se ilumine y el aviso de batería baja. Otra gran ventaja que veo es su pequeño tamaño. Sólo falta esperar que dure. Me hubiera gustado que incorporara un higrómetro pero viendo que son en general poco precisos no es una gran pérdida.
