An altoids tin won’t press your cards together with enough force to destroy the mag stripe and your fingers. 2. An altoids tin cost about a $1 and is a heck of a lot easier to replace than dealing with the phone call runaround involved with trying to replace an item through a warranty. 3. A short answer would be that I could build this wallet in my garage for about 5 dollars and it would take me maybe an hour. I was always a little sceptical about the elastic band that holds all cards together. But having now held and used this, this is a good quality band, to go with a good quality and feel of product. The bands hold the card in place firmly even under vigorous shake tests. Plus the added RFID is a great add in this day an age, as standard, without increasing the thickness of the wallet.I did have a small manufacturers defect, which I reached out to the warranty team. 3 emails, a few photos and a week later from starting the discussion, I have recieved notification that a new wallet is being shipped over, as the piece in question was not a replaceable component.
