LEGIT, REAL PLATINUM, TESTED
100% LEGIT PLATINUMI normally don't leave reviews, but if I can save even one person 1/100th of the grief and turmoil I've endured searching for platinum coated titanium electrodes. I know i was searching for review of this caliber myself and never found it.Actually platinum. I've been scammed 3 times on "platinized electrodes" on Amazon. If you're not aware, the easiest and fastest verification of platinum is via catalytic decomposition of H202 (Hydrogen Peroxide - see gif attached) Hydrogen Peroxide will decompose into H2 and 02 respectively in presence of a platinum catalyst - aka it'll bubble if electrodes are indeed platinum surfaced.

Real
This is actually platinum coated titanium. Beware because there are fakes out there but this is the real deal. Used for chlorate anode. 5v 40amp power supply and ran it for months. No breakdown whatsoever.

The Real Deal at a Steal.
I purchased 2 of these. I tested both, and both of them not only sparked bright white on the uncovered titanium bar, but also caused 12% H2O2 to bubble quite nicely. A close visual examination shows complete coverage indicative of electroplating. It also showed just enough surface blemishes (that cleaned off) that I strongly advise cleaning it according to your needs before use, as whether they came from manufacturing or shipping, you probably don't want the unknown impurities in your cell.BE AWARE: This is obviously not a precision manufactured, pro lab grade item, carefully calibrated with unbeatable QC. The fact that its being sold on amazon at this price should give that away. That being said, it is what it says it is. If you use it conservatively at a low amp/volt setting it should last you quite a long while at a heck of a price

Three Stars
Not as smooth as I thought it would be.

Worked for my cell
This has helped me with my 4th and Nye science experiments.

Completely failed for me
I used this as an anode in dilute manganese acetate to deplete the solution of manganese and it failed on the first run at about 2 volts in about 3 mins. Either the coating is not platinum or it is so thin it is useless. I also found that it has a fairly high resistance which also makes it useless for ultra low voltage long term runs.Others here have reported it working great but it failed in every way I needed to work.

Four Stars
Received eariler than expected.

Surprisingly durable.
I've had two of these in a chlorate cell for almost three weeks at 4.7V with barely any drop in efficiency. While it's certainly possible to destroy these through negligence, treated properly they seem a great bargain for the price. Keep your temperature high to avoid free chlorine, monitor pH closely and these should last you a while.
