1/2 Mile Hosmart Driveway Alarm Wireless Outdoor Motion Sensor System | Driveway Sensor Alert System Weatherproof Security Sensor & Detector Protect Outdoor/Indoor Property

Overall I was very pleased with the Hosmart system, so much that I bought a second system! For the price, it is a really good system for added home security and for general alerts such as for deliveries and mail. Their customer service is excellent too… more about that later! One of the best features of the Hosmart system is that it has four different chimes! This is awesome because I know if motion has been detected in my driveway, walkway, backyard, or mailbox depending on the chime. There are also lights on the base station to let you know which sensor detected motion. The base station receiver is very loud, which is good for alerts and you can adjust it down if needed. What could be better: It makes a very loud tone when the volume button or on/off buttons are pressed and when it’s plugged in. A tone is not needed for plugging it in or turning it on/off, or it at least could be quieter. For the most part, the sensors are accurate in detecting what they need to (vehicles and humans). When it rains and the sensor windows have water on them, they might not detect motion. However, if the sensors are wiped off or when they dry naturally, the sensors work properly again. I suspect that any system like this would have the same issue when it rains heavily. There is no on/off button on the sensors, so if you need to be in an area where a sensor is present (washing your car, doing yard work, etc), and don't want it going off repeatedly and running down the batteries, just cover it with aluminum foil… or obviously you can turn off the base station so anyone indoors doesn't have to listen to the alert over and over... but covering the sensor with foil saves your sensor’s battery life. What could be better: Adding an on/off switch and/or remote for the sensors would be great! When a sensor detects motion, it triggers one alert chime that lasts about 2 seconds... so if you're a deep sleeper or even in a deep part of your sleep cycle, it's possible the one chime may wake you (or not), but you may not realize that it was the alert chime that woke you up. Or if you’re in another room, even at max volume, it’s possible to miss the brief alert chime. Placing two sensors or more (spaced several feet apart) for the same area, such as along a driveway or walkway increases the likelihood of being alerted to a person or vehicle. What could be better: If the base chimed 2-3 times per detection, rather than once, it would improve the system. Unfortunately, one sensor failed after two months. Fresh batteries and taking it apart to make sure it was dry and dust free inside didn't revive it. I found Hosmart's warranty support email address on their website and emailed them. I didn't get a quick reply, but when I did get a reply from Bella at Hosmart she let me know that the delay was due to my emails going to spam and she apologized for the delay! Bella quickly shipped me a new sensor and went the extra mile and gave me a partial refund to compensate for the delayed reply! The new sensor is installed and works great! Thank you Bella! :) A company can often be judged best by how they handle problems, and I am very pleased how well Hosmart (and specifically Bella) handled the issue and that she went above and beyond to make it right! I would not hesitate to order from this company again as they are responsive and stood behind their warranty!

I purchased the four pack and they were already set up when I got them. All I had to do is decide what tones I wanted and I appreciated the fact that they had messages already to tell me about driveway alarm or backyard alarm. Installation was easy and they work great.

I have had this unit for 3 weeks now. It has been integrated into my other security measures; CCVT cameras, thermal, IR, and electro magnetic (vehicle) sensors, audio alarms, and boobytraps on my property. This system along with my cameras, allowed me to have a solid 2 minute jump on and armed thief at 0515 one morning late last week. This system woke me up from a lite sleep and allowed me to view my CCVT and thermal monitors. Low and behold, a grin appeared on my face when I saw movement in what the perp thought was concealing darkness behind my zone 1 car hauler and motor home. I proceeded to get my evil AR15 chambered in 300 Blackout (in fully semi auto with a 30 rnd clip) and proceeded to watch his actions. Lucky for him, he missed the 12 ga buckshot booby trap at my barn and walked up to the side of my house where the zone 2 motion sensor alerted multiple times. I put the red dot right on his face from inside my kitchen window and watched him walk towards my side house door. Safety off now and just when I seconds from confronting him, my security light tripped on and sent him running down my driveway. Really? Ill have to disconnect that light. Anyways, set this product up in zones and its easy to integrate with other systems and track progression. 2 alarms its probably something out there.. As for False alarms, very rare with my set up, 1 this week and that was only during windy rain storm. Tones are goofy but you'll remember which one is where plus the receiver lights up which ones going off. I also only turn mine on after sunset or when I'm inside for the day. Nice fact is the receiver unit is portable with internal battery so I can take it to the man Cave, Garage, Workshop, Campsites, my bunker, etc. Range of sensors is awesome. I am purchasing a second 4 sensor kit. then zone 1 will have 2 sensors and twice the area, same with zones 2,3 and 4.. Good product, hope it lasts for several years.

I always wanted a driveway sensor for our property in another state, that has a 900+ foot driveway, so that we’d have a warning when someone was heading up into our woods/home, but they were very expensive and out of my reach. The Hosmart set of four motion sensors with the base for the house/dwelling is VERY affordable, well made, and easy to set up. I am physically challenged, and figured out where my strategic areas were for trespassers on this property. There are 4 distinct channels, and also a sensitivity setting inside the unit. You will probably end up turning down the sensitivity as I did because it covers a LARGE area, and may cover more than you want at times. Easy to assemble and take apart, the batteries seem to stay charged for a good while too. It’s important that you cut away branches, leaves, and other items that will trigger the sensor, just as you would for a trail cam. When you have each sensor in the set of four set on it’s own channel and distinctive tone/chime, you will find that channels 3 and 4 will NOT emit a flashing red light when the sensor is triggered. Apparently this is done on purpose, so that these two are NOT obvious/easy to see to those who come on your property. The chime still goes off for those sensors set on channels 3 and 4. I was involved from manufacturing to ISO 9000 Auditor in the electronic sub contract industry for 8.5 years, and I think these are quality products in comparison to a lot of junk on the market. These folks back up their products, give excellent customer support, and are a delight to deal with; VERY customer oriented. They REALLY want you to be happy with their products. These sensors are TOUGH, and will handle rain, cold, etc. READ the instructions to avoid pointing them into direct sunlight. They are adjustable with a swivel nut on the back plate. By the way, a screwdriver that fits ALL screws is included, as well as masonry sleeves to screw into bricks in case you don’t have wood. Honestly, I think that potential trespassers don’t realize these are sensors, but rather cameras, and THAT deters them or keeps them guessing (LOL ). The distance on this property that I have them set up on can range up to 300+ feet, and there are lots of trees, plants, and other large objects in between the base unit in the dwelling and the sensors. This has NOT been a problem. I know that I can text Customer Service or call, and not be ignored like many companies that I have dealt with in the last two decades. Two thumbs up, and five stars. UPDATE: Late 2021 My base set wouldn’t work with new batteries or through the USB cord (electricity ). Called Customer Service and explained the problem, and that I needed to have the system up and running A.S.A.P. They were great! I received replacement base set quickly and was up and running! Excellent and hassle-free service. Thanks, Hosmart!

These have worked flawlessly and the range is amazing. Would definitely recommend them from my experience. Squirrel, coyote, deer, bobcat along with vehicles trip the sensors

Packaged quite well and batteries came fully charged (all four sensors). The build quality seems to be pretty good. Very easy to install. I did run a bead of silicon around the seam (sensors) just in case. I also placed each sensor inside a shelter (looks sort of like a bird house) that I made for our previous outdoor alarm system. I left the sensitivity on High for all 4 sensors. They seem to have an effective range of about 30 feet at that level. No issues with the signal reaching the receiver (which is inside our house). The distance isn't great but we do have a lot of trees and multiple walls that the signal must travel through. We like the ability to select different tones, but we're not thrilled with the tones themselves (we do like tone # 1). We set two sensors to tone # 1 and two sensors to tone # 4. That way we know where to look by the sound of the tone. I think the system is good but could be made better with a few improvements. 1. Put a waterproof gasket between the back plate and the body of the sensor. 2. Better tone choices. 3. The "roof" for the sensors needs a better attachment method. As it is now I suspect it will dislodge with a strong wind or a hard driving rain. For me it won't be an issue because I placed the sensor itself inside of a protective structure, but I'd have made the roof attachment more secure if I didn't put the sensors inside a protective structure.

We wanted this sensor / alarm system to wow us. We'd had another sensor system for almost a decade before it had problems and up to that point, it had been utterly reliable. However, Amazon no longer carries that brand / model. Sadly, this new sensor failed to even come close to providing the security that it advertised. The range isn't the problem. Sensitivity seems to be the issue. Just before writing this review, I tested it by having my son drive a truck by it, at a range of 500'. Neither driving out or into the driveway activated the alarm, 5 feet in front of the sensor. It has worked before and seems to work only half of the time. It's psychologically jarring to learn that you have visitors as they walk past your window to knock on your door. Our family's safety is too precious to gamble as to whether or not the sensor and alarm will work this time or not. This reviews the product as unreliable, and therefore dangerous. EDIT - Their customer service reached out and refunded us. We got a replacement by the same manufacturer and for months now it has worked flawlessly. Good for Hosmart.

I bought this system eight months ago to detect trespassers and for driveway alert. When the box arrived, I assembled them, installed the batteries and tested each one on the countertop, and they seemed to work fine. I then went to put in for the warranty as instructed in the pamphlet, well, good luck with that as apparently the website doesn't exist. I then mounted two of them on 4x4 posts for trespasser notification out on my land. Well, unless the person walks real slow and within 10 feet of the sensor, it won't see them. I tried all the adjustments , no change. I ended up mounting these right next to the entrance doors of my pole barn so the person trying to enter was right on top of them, then they worked. The other two I use as driveway alerts and they seem to work pretty good for that purpose as long as they're pointed at the grill of the vehicle and the vehicle isn't moving too fast. Now what I really dislike is each sensor uses a different cute little chime song on the base unit. I can't remember what tune is for what sensor, if it would just say 1,2 3 or 4 I would be happy. I am impressed with the range as my building is 300 feet from my house and they work fine as far as that goes. But when these die, I won't be buying these again.

Tried several brands over the years they all failed or had terrible range or lots of false signals 😔..... I have owned this system for 6 months now, live on a acreage in central Alberta and absolutely love this system, purchased the 4 pack, also purchased 1 more receiver, awesome range, dependable even at -38C that has been the coldest we have been this winter. I charge the sensors once every 4 months with a portable lithium power pack.... this way I leave the sensor mounted in place, batteries last a long time in sensors even when detecting movement 20 to 30 times a day, they are not dead when charged I just want to keep them charged as lithium batteries don’t like it if you run them completely dead so that’s why I will charge them every 4 months so I get a long service life out of them. All in all I would recommend this product 100% to anyone looking for a dependable long range motion sensor system with a loud receiver and easy set up 👍

I PUT UP THE 4 SENSORS TO COVER ACCCESS TO MY PROPERTY. THEY ARE WORKING WELL AND ANNOUNCE THE PRESENCE OF SOMEONE OR A LARGER ANIMAL IN THE COVERAGE ZONE. NO MORE SURPRISE VISITORS

I love this product easy to install easy to set up and with in minutes I can tell when someone is coming on the property no surprises. High Sensitivity can be set off with just a bird or rabbit. We have a horseshoe drive. And we can set this up to have different chimes so we know what lane someone is coming in We had 1 little issue where we couldn’t get the battery to hold a charge. Couple quick emails with customer service and we were back in business Love this product

Had 4 sensors for 2 days now. Easy set up. So far it works fine. Time will tell how well. If you want to recharge the sensors, you have to unscrew/charge/srew back in. You can't unclip, charge and clip back. So climb up the ladder... The ''controller'' doesn't have a rechargeable battery, why? There's one in every sensor... The controller's lights only blinks once, so by the time you get to look at it, you don't know which sensor has beeped...I will not remember the individual songs that each sensor makes to know which one rang the controller. Otherwize it works.
