Overall I’m pretty happy with these. It comes with four base posts, four hook posts, and eight straight posts. I only used four of the straight posts as I wanted them to be the shorter option and they seem steady/sturdy enough. I did have some trouble putting them together as the threads didn’t always seem to line up perfectly causing them to not want to properly connect, but in the end it worked out. I’m not sure it would have if I had used all the posts for the taller option.In true form, the moment I got them assembled and outside the weather changed and it rained for almost two, nearly three weeks straight. It also got too cold to be outside anymore, so I went to go and bring them inside, two of them had a bit of rust where the lanterns I had hung touched the hooks, HOWEVER the lantern wire is not rated for outdoor use, so that wire could have been the culprit. As I live in an area with intense winters theses will be inside for the winter.I had a bit of an issue putting them in the ground given that my yard is a mess of concrete and stone under the grass thanks to some lazy work done ages ago, so I had to be careful where I put these, a couple of times the ground spikes came into contact with said obstacles and one of them bent a little, however, whenever I found clear spots and used my foot to press down on the straight bar the ground spikes went in no problem.they’re not the best, they’re not the worst, you’re getting what you’re paying for which means a little bit of extra effort to take care of them, I think as long as I bring them in for the winter and keep an eye on the lantern wire regarding the rust issues they’ll hold up for a decent amount of time. Overall I’m pretty happy with them.

This product isn't going to fit my intended purpose, but that is not the product's fault, so I'm not docking the review for that. I was looking for hooks to move around and hang predator eyes from to deter hawks from my chickens. These aren't really tall enough to do the job, but that is my fault. I do think these would work great as the listing picture shows them, and then maybe placed in a garden that has shorter flowers (not my 5'-7' cannas and elephant ears), or running along a sidewalk or pathway. Also, a side note:my ground is very hard and the ten pound sledgehammer did come out for the job. My feet weren't going to get them buried to proper depth. The only reason I didn't give them five stars is I cannot speak to durability yet as I just bought them.

Once hook is put together completely it is nice black sleek finish and you can't see the seams where the different metal pieces fit together. IF and I repeat IF you can get the pieces to fit together that's how it looks. Half the metal pieces didn't fit together tight showing the joints. But when I finally searched and tried various segments over and over I found enough pieces to assemble 2 hooks (at it's shortest height ) so they had tight invisible seams at the joints. That was out of a batch or 5 hooks. Thank goodness I only needed 2. Now what to do with the rest that won't fit together properly and can't be used without looking a little tacky.

We ordered the four Shepard hooks to hang bird feeders. They arrived in a box, each hook composed of three parts - the hook, an extension, and a ground stake. The first three went together nicely and were sturdy and ready to use. The fourth one had no screw threads on the extension, so it could not be put together. Additionally, the ground stake appeared to have a burr in its threads, we tried just using it as a much shorter hook, but the threads from the hook would not fully seat on the ground stake.I was impressed with the rapid return information provided by Amazon. We would have been happy with a replacement for the one item that did not work, but instead, returned the entire package and received an almost immediate credit for the purchase. I'll reorder and try again.

I liked the flexibility of being able to use these standing hooks at different heights. Great idea. That being said, a couple of the pieces came screwed together and were impossible to separate. They were the sturdy ones, however. Because the poles are in sections, I found them to be a bit flimsy. They will not hold anything remotely heavy without bending. All in all, not a bad value for the money. The flexibility of varying heights is worth $$. But just be aware that they will not be the strong, upright shepherds hooks that you may have purchased from a brick and mortar store.

The hooks come in pieces so you can choose the height you would like to make each one. They are sturdy and easy to assemble. Great price for the set of 4.

Purchased these as Christmas gifts with lanterns for my kids. Really like the size, not too big, to go along a path or in a garden. It comes in pieces so you can put them together or store them.

Very sturdy, easy to assemble. Each piece was individually wrapped & each hanger can be adjusted to 3 different sizes since they each come with 2 extensions. They go in the ground easily & display these lights we made for the holidays. Great buy! I’m ordering another set.

Very flimsy . One broke immediately. Don't buy them won't hold much weight if.you want to hang lanterns. Good enough for bug off lights

Doesn't hold my hanging flower basket. It just tips over. Needs very light weight item to hang from it.

Adequate, not real heavy duty. Good for adjustable height.
