Mobile Pixels Duex Plus Portable Monitor for Laptops, USB C/USB A Plug and Play 13.3" Laptop Screen Extender

I'm a writer and a student and I use my laptop in various locations such as coffee shops, restaurants, and the couch in friends' homes. Sometimes I need to do research or reference notes, and having a second monitor makes it much easier to do than switching windows on one screen. The Duex Pro Portable Monitor first caught my attention because in most places I work away from home I barely have room for my laptop, let alone a second monitor, and this attached monitor makes that a moot point. At first I was hesitant because of the price, but since I've had it (over 3 months now), it's been worth the money. Mounting and preparation for use are very easy. It came with the cable and magnets for mounting to three laptops. Yes, there were glitches with the video in the beginning, but I was provided a quick and easy fix and it has worked fine since. The picture quality is great. It mounts to the back the laptop monitor via magnets. I have a 15" laptop and mounted my Duex Pro monitor centered top to bottom. According to the product description (Tips), "Duex pro must be seated against the table top. The magnets are only meant to hold Duex pro upright, they cannot hold Duex pro on by themselves. This was the design intention." The magnets do hold the monitor onto the back of my laptop just fine while extended without resting on anything, but after a while it may slide a little bit. I've used it for hours at a time extended and not resting on anything and I have no complaints. The magnets make it easy to remove for transport (if it won't fit in your laptop sleeve, for example) or if you want to use it in portrait mode (self-supporting) or with the kickstand (landscape). Everywhere I use it people ask me about it, and they're impressed with how nice it looks and works. I'm very happy with my purchase and recommend it to everyone.

allright, so i don't review stuff much, but anyone who has doubt should read this review. i initially got this monitor because i needed two screen for notes. the thing with power point is that it is reallly a good dictation software. however, when the professor is dictating, i give him the mic and powerpoint does a good job in transcribing. near perfect. however while it's dictating, i don't have the function to write on the slides because dictation will stop. i was looking for a solution, and I emailed the customer service person, and he got back to me real fast. so what i did was extend the screen (you could also mirror the screen). i extended the screen, and then i had two inputs for pointers(one a tablet-xp tablet) and one the mouse. Hence i didn't think this would solve my problem. However i had downloaded the program plural input or something let's me have two mouse. weird, right? That's what i thought. so i extended the screen and somehow windows is smart enough to let me duplicate the environment in the extended screen aka the duex pro. Really smart for windows. so i extend my powerpoint on that screen, and on my original screen, i have the pdf file, and i am writing on. This took a complex scenario to solve, but the solution came not intuitively but with just dumb luck. However let me review the monitor. It is bright, good quality, and the resolution is much better than my dell xps 13 montior which shocked me. the screen also folds nicely inside thus when i am not using it, i can fold it up. I have used the mirror mode, but i like the extend mode a lot better. Realistically i am not lying, it's lying having two computers in one, if you extend the screen, and get the software plural input (free by the way). I must say, this thing i was surprised. It exceeded my expectations. the price---ok...well a little high, but i guess what beats anything is the convenience that comes with this. One of the best things ever made, really. I felt like this thing needed a long review so other customers may benefit from an honest reviewer. I get nothing from this review, but just knowing that somehow i solved my problem which saved me hundreds of hours over the semester.

My wife purchased this for me for my birthday. Shipping actually went quicker than expected, so that was a pleasant surprise. It operated completely as expected, totally plug and play. The one omission from the directions... let the adhesive disks cure for at least 3 hours. I installed the adhesive disks following the directions, and then flipped the laptop over so that the weight of the laptop was pressing onto the disks overnight. I did this because the first set of disks I used did not hold after a 10 minute wait time.. I contacted the company, and they are sending me 4 new disks so I can use my extra monitor on multiple devices. Very good customer service The screen is very bright and easy to use. The color scheme is a little different from my laptop but I do no think there is much I can do about that. I would not put my Photoshop projects on it, but its really good for the extra windows I need. It also has a relatively slow response time, but I didn't get it for gaming. It can be awkward if using this in bed because constant shifting will give the screen a little bit of wobble. The use of magnets for attachment is genius because it allows for total flexibility with placement. The downside of the magnets, however, is that the screen can be subject to shifts and wobbles. This product works much better on a stable surface than on a lap; that said, it is still very usable as long as you are aware of this. =) The reason for 4 stars is that I found the Duex at the Mobile Pixels website (mobilepixels.us) for $20 cheaper than on Amazon. Usually Amazon is the best price, but in this case, not so much. I am still extremely happy with the product. Mobile Pixels is advertising a product with two screens and I will definitely get me on of those! A little warning on the kickstand. It is way more simplistic than it should be... basically just a laminated piece of cardboard. The angle cannot really be adjusted without the use of objects lying around to brace it. The magnets work really well, but they are spaced so that it only works in Landscape mode... no Portrait. If I'm told I'm wrong, I will happily edit this review. My wife bought it for me but I'm not sure how often I'll use it.

I have had this additional screen for my laptop for a couple of months now. Works great! Comes with two cords to connect to a USB port and also to connect to a type C port (like the new Samsung Galaxy S10). Comes with 12 circle-shaped magnets that have adhesive on one side to stick to the back of your laptop monitor. You need to use 4 of them, so there are 8 extra. The directions say that these magnets can be removed from your laptop by heating them to loosen the adhesive. I have two laptops, one for travel and one that stays at home, so I have used 8 of the magnets so far, 4 on each laptop. Horizontal Placement: When you follow the directions to place the magnets on the back of your laptop monitor, it says to place them so that this extra monitor will be offset about an inch to the right of your screen--but I would recommend to err on the side of a little too much rather than not enough. Since once the screen is opened it has a hinge that allows the monitor to be angled backwards and forwards. On one of my laptops I placed it sufficiently to where the it is very easy to angle the screen forwards (I haven't really tried backwards), but on the other laptop I underestimated slightly and I have to offset it just a bit off of the magnets to get it to angle forward the way that I need it to. I recommend that you hold it on the back of your laptop with one hand while you slide out the screen and angle it backward and forward to confirm the motion and the correct placement before deciding exactly where you would like to place the magnets. Other than that, the directions for putting the magnets on are pretty foolproof and went very well. Vertical Placement: One other consideration is to make sure that the bottom of the screen will be supported by the surface your laptop is on by opening the laptop and setting the screen behind it, making sure it touches the surface the laptop is on before making your decision about where to place the magnets. It's a great screen. I'm glad that I bought it because it helps me to be more productive since I can see two screens at once.

I work with multi-screens at work every day, however, I needed to extend my laptop display so I could make it easier on myself in completing my school work. The monitor does exactly what it's supposed to, and it is a great addition to my laptop, and it is very helpful, however, the reason why I gave it a low rating is because of the price. I paid $275 for a 12-inch monitor. In comparison, for the same price, I could buy a brand new laptop, a 50 inch TV, or even a 20-inch monitor. All the company has done is put a 12-inch monitor in a plastic enclosure and added some software, cable, and brackets to allow rotation. Definitely not worth the $275 to pay. Buy a regular, much larger monitor and an HDMI cable to connect your laptop. Lower the price. Update June 29, 2021: hinges on the device just broke, not even six months from purchase. Not worth the price, consider a regular monitor

I bought the Duex Pro Portable monitor to help me while I am away from my work desk. The display is very light-weight & portable (5 stars for portability) but has much bigger cons coming with it as follows: 1. It adds serious weight to the hinges of your laptop display when attached. My MacBook's display hinges are loosened and the original screen falls back easily now. (I am worried about the damaged caused) 2. The resolution of the Duex Pro monitor although being 1080p, is very clumsy and the text is difficult to read for anyone. It hurt my eyes when using for longer hours. 3. The display quality is not really great for the price point. The colors are diverted from original RGB ratios. Also, transition of app windows is not smooth. The price is not justified for this. Specially, when I can buy an iPad for $329 and use it as secondary display using sidecar feature (much smoother btw). 4. Hardware quality is not very great. Sliding the display is not smooth many times and makes me worry if I will break it. Also, sliding the display out from its attachment puts serious efforts on laptop display hinge which is another serious issue and hefty long term damage to the laptop. Overall rating : Average (3/5)

I was looking for a portable screen for work and I often have to travel and leave my desk. When I saw this item I was unsure of how it would work but I gave it a try. I haven't been so satisfied with a product in forever! I goes everywhere with me and its easy to use and I can get my work done much quicker. I also use it as a third monitor when I'm working from my desk. I've even played a movie for my kids on one screen while I worked on the other! I am 100% satisfied and I saw a personal on here add a second one to their computer which I am very tempted to do. Thank you for an amazing product!

I was extremely happy when I received the extended screen. I followed the instructions for installing on a Mac, the screen would not advance. Per the instructions, I sent an email to the help desk, the response was almost immediate. Evie's customer service was stellar. Her attitude set the bar high for customer service, if I could I would give her 10 stars. She requested permission to access my computer and I was sent a code that changed once we logged out. Evie, said there was an additional step, after about 5 minutes or so I was up and running. She walked me through the necessary steps to change the position of the screen, as I am working on a paper, and vertical is my preferred method for the scree. Lastly, when I told Evie I did not have a cord for my hp, a cord was FEDEX. Again, thank you Evie for the customer excellence, you truly are the voice of the brand.

Excelente pantalla !!! de fácil conexión e instalación, eso sí, es un poco pesada y se cae un poco, pero con unos alambritos queda bien! :D
