## Description

OneUp Version 3 This is the 3rd generation of the famous OneUp printers. With over 7,000 units out in the wild, the OneUp is the standard for entry level 3D printer kits. The 3rd generation comes with revised instructions to make assembly and printing easier than ever. Many of our customers report build times of under 2 hours til their first print! The OneUp sets itself apart from other 3D printers in its class by using the finest linear motion components, including chromed, induction hardened linear shafts, precision ACME screws (for the Z axis) and LM8LUU linear bearings for double the rigidity over the LM8UU bearings used in most printer kits. Each of the linear motion components is tied together with a CNC laser cut melamine frame (Made in the USA) which provides not only rigidity but light weight for high speed printing. The printing area of the OneUp for both the heated bed and standard version is increased to 100mm x 100mm x 125mm. While most printers max out at 100 micron layer heights, the OneUp can print consistenly at 50 microns, double the resolution of its competitors. With improved print speeds up to 100mm/s due to the lighter weight extruder and hotend, print time is almost cut in half! The brand new auto-adjusting extruder puts the exact amount of tension required on the filament and allows quick loading and unloading. Due to its open design you can visually see the feeding of filament into the hotend for easy maintenance and setup. The all new metal hotend improves print speeds and reliability and looks AWESOME!Additional improvements include a much more robust mounting system for the linear bearings and belts as well. The printer is compatible with all filaments that have melting temperatures below 250C including, PLA , ABS , Nylon , Laywoo , Bronze fill , Ninja Flex , PVA , HIPS and many more!

Review: I was looking for something fun to put together with the kids we could work ... - I got what I expected out of this purchase, I was looking for something fun to put together with the kids we could work on weekends and learn something in the process. This worked perfectly for me and fit the bill. it is a DIY kit though so be prepared for odds and ends here and there, for what you are paying it is a great value. I did get the oneup with no heated bed, we use the blue printer tape and it works great so far, I see no reason to upgrade for our purposes at least. I received one of the v2 versions of the system, we spent about 3 weekends putting it together, not because it takes that long but because we were distracted by other things and I wanted the kids to help put it together. I am guessing if I was focused it could be put together in 3-4 hours as they claim. We had no broken parts, but we did strip a screw resulting in a trip to the hardware store to buy nuts. Be careful screwing into the MDF it strips very easy! Once we got it together we have done quite a few prints, all in all it is a learning experience as we figure out settings to make a print work, we have had a few screws here and there come loose (worse one was the screw holding the x axis pulley in place) as well resulting in a few "what is that prints!". Once we figured out what came loose though the printer works quite well and we are pretty happy with it. The kids love printing out their own pokemon and other stuff and we are learning what works and does not in the process.
Review: Great for the Technical Hobbiest - Just to echo what most of the reviews have said here: It's a great device for the money, but has some serious design flaws due to the low cost. Two things I'd like to call out. First, I really appreciate the staff at Q3D. My package shipped on time, but was missing the belts when I received it. I contacted Q3D through the desertcart portal and they responded within 2 hours. On a Saturday. Belts shipped out on Tuesday (Monday was a holiday), and I got them on Friday. Sure the belts should have been in the package in the first place, but they definitely made it right. I appreciate how they've been gradually improving the OneUp. They've added a flexiable Z-axis connector, instead of the original bolt the threaded rod onto the motor. They've improved the mountings for the belt pulleys. They've changed from the original brass Z-axis nut to a plastic one which isn't exactly a positive move, but that's probably a tradeoff for the other changes, and one I'm fine with. Second, this is not for the non-technical person who just wants to print stuff. This is a model kit. It takes time to assemble, care, and some knowledge. You have to learn how the software works to be able to remotely use it properly. It's somewhat fragile, and you can potentially make it destroy itself. It's essentially a masterclass that teaches you how 3D printers work, how to build them, and a tool to start making your own improvements or even a new printer. This is exactly what I wanted, and it fills that role perfectly. Final Notes: - The build area is advertised as 100mmx100mmx125mm. For me, it's actually closer to 80mmx125mmx110mm (X, Y, Z) - Like everyone else has said, the X gantry (the crossbar that the print head rides on) sags, unless you superglue the bearings on. Not a good long term solution. One of the first things to do is either install a pully mod (search google for 'oneup pully mod') or print out an entirely new gantry. - I do not like how the extruder is attached to the feeder. The screws just don't seem to hold it well. - Be VERY careful when attaching the bearings with the wire ties. The tie holders on the MDF board are not sturdy enough, and easily ripped through. - There is no fan bracket, but the system really needs one. The first thing you should print is a fan bracket. Until then, put a desk fan on your print after the first layer is put down. - Use the filament they give you to work out the system, but buy new filament to use on day 1. What I got in the box.w asn't very good, and it wasn't until I started using the new plastic that my started looking nice.
