Review: Also good for older kids. - I Like the the table it kept my 9, 8 and 6 year old busy for a long time but could be sent with better instructions. And less assembly on the toys. The storage containers could be deeper so the toys don't fall back out into the floor. Other then that it's good table and light weight so it's not hard to move. My 3 boys carried the box up stairs on their own. Not gonna lie tho it took a minute to set up on my own. Also the board can be flipped so bigger kids can play with leggos. Review: One of the Best Purchases We've Made for Our Twins! - We purchased this train table for our three-year-old son for Christmas because, like all little boys, he loves trains and cars. We searched on here for something he could use for a long time and thought this would be worth purchasing since he's a very busy boy and there are quite a few activities to do with this table alone. When he opened this table set and my husband started putting it together, our son could barely contain his excitement! He absolutely couldn't wait to get his little hands on this set and it's a good thing my husband is very handy and was able to put the table and all of the little pieces and structures together within a couple hours so our son could start playing with it right away. This set comes with a lot of pieces and I've included a couple pictures of the table so you can see what it looks like. The table itself measures 48 3/4" by 32 1/2" by 15" and is made out of sturdy wood. The board included is two pieces and has colorful pictures of grass, rocks, roads, and water. It comes with a lot of wooden track pieces and some are arched so the track isn't just flat. This set also comes with a helipad, helicopter, small airport runway that consists of four puzzle pieces, a plane, a plastic mountain with a waterfall, a bridge, a turntable that really works, a crane, and small wooden pieces made to look like a hospital, police station, fire station, and gas station. The hospital, police station, fire station, and gas station are small pieces of wood painted to look like the buildings rather than actual three-dimensional buildings. This set also comes with little wooden people, wooden trees, street signs, a boat, and a couple cars and trains. It does not come with many trains though so you will probably want to purchase some. We bought Orbrium Toys 12 Pcs Wooden Engines & Train Cars Collection Compatible with Thomas Wooden Railway, Brio, Chuggington which work perfectly with this set. We also have a number of the Thomas and Friends wooden trains such as Fisher-Price Thomas the Train Wooden Railway Thomas and Fisher-Price Thomas the Train Wooden Railway James Engine which are compatible with the wooden tracks in this set. We've also purchased some of the trains from local stores that cost a couple dollars each and they work with this set. There are also wooden beams you put underneath the table that hold three plastic bins for storing all of these pieces. We have had this set for almost five months now and my son continues to use it every day. It's one of his favorite toys and it has been such a good investment for us! Even his twin sister uses it and it's a lot of fun to watch them play together with it (when they are actually getting along which is rare). My kids are both about 37 inches tall and this table is a great size for them. They can stand or sit and use it. As they get taller, they can either sit on the floor or pull up chairs to use the table. I've even sat down on the floor and played with the table with them so kids of all ages can definitely benefit from this table set. The only issue I've come across is that sometimes the tracks and roads don't match up nicely. For instance, because of the way the track pieces are shaped they run across the roads and there aren't a lot of configurations but, for the most part, the tracks work nicely with the pictures on the board. My twins don't really care at this point but they may in the future and perhaps we can remove pieces of the track so it looks a bit more realistic. It works great for us right now and as long as our kids are happy, we are happy! If you have a little one who loves trains and cars, this table set will provide them HOURS of entertainment (plus it will give you a few minutes of peace and quiet, or at least no screaming)! My kids love this set and I'm glad they are able to both enjoy it. I know they will use it for years to come which is good considering the price. It is a more expensive toy but it has been extremely well-worth it for us and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. It has a lot of pieces but was fairly easy to put together and is still standing strong even after my three-year-old twins' daily playing, which is saying something! If anything happens that changes my opinion of this product, I will update this review. I highly recommend this table set for young children because it will keep them so busy and even adults will have fun playing with their kids with it! ## Features - MADE OF WOOD: Premium, sustainable materials are used to craft this train table. Is it sturdy enough for a library-environment?** A: The people and trees are made of wood but the traffic signs and such are made of plastic. It is sturdy, but if I were using it in a library environment I would do some "beefing" up on the table top. It comes in two sections and drop in but there is some room so it's possible to pinch fingers, so we made sure they stayed together first. I have also caught my kids trying to sit on it so I have asked my husband to cut a piece of plywood to fit in there to make it a little stronger. The table top now is definitely not strong enough to be sat on. **Q: I'm not quite sure what pieces come with this? Does this come with train pieces and people, or do we need to buy add train set?** A: This set comes with everything you see in the picture,Trains, track, people etc! We didn't buy additional train set. My son loves it! **Q: Is this compatible with Thomas trains?** A: There are many kinds of Thomas, KidKraft wood tracks are 90%compatible with "Thomas for wood tracks"; why 90%, because for the curved tracks I recommend buying original thomas tracks, regular, not the ones that you can adjust the curve... those adjustable ones even if they are "thomas" are not good either. **Q: Can someone tell me the exact dimensions of the Bins? I purchased this table pre-owned by someone but it's missing the bins & I want to replace them.** A: Did you ever find the replacement bins? I’d like to find the bins in a different color than red! ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Also good for older kids. *by D***Y on September 19, 2026* I Like the the table it kept my 9, 8 and 6 year old busy for a long time but could be sent with better instructions. With the craziness of all the 2020 restrictions this year, many businesses made adjustments to avoid the spread of Covid-19. Our local public library had this same table top train set for years but took it away due to Covid-19 after they opened back up. We decided the kids loved it and missed it enough that we bought one for our home. The train set is overall fun for the kids and they tinker with it for hours. There are lots and lots of little pieces to play with. I would say for the price it is worth the purchase, but the trains are fairly basic. We bought more trains on Amazon that are better and are of the Thomas the Train theme. The assembly overall took all day, with the table fairly easy to put together and follow, but the the assembly of the tracks was generalized in one diagram and confusing to try to put it all together. You'll need a medium screwdriver to assemble the table, and then a small screwdriver for some of the buildings. The diagram for the tracks didn't actually align with the layout, but we figured it out. Also, the tracks need to go a specific way when linking them. You may find that you've installed some of them backwards if the tracks meet on the same male or female ends. You'll need to turn around or flip most all of the tracks if that happens. I've attached photos of how we set it up for helping put yours together. The framework of the table is very light, and can be taken apart down to the legs and table frame and moved easily if need be. One slick bonus we didn't realize before buying is you can remove everything off the top and flip the boards over to make a pretty basic large table to play board games and build puzzles on. We would definitely buy again but you may want to get some better trains for it like we did (Amazon will recommend several trains when you add this to your shopping cart). ## Frequently Bought Together - KidKraft Waterfall Mountain Wooden Train Set & Table with 120 Pieces, 3 Storage Bins - Wooden Train Track 52 Piece Set-18 Feet Of Track Expansion - 5 Distinct Pieces - 100% Compatible with All Major Brands Including Thomas Wooden Railway System: Screen Free Christmas Gift For Toddlers - Motorized Train for Wooden Track, Remote Control Train with Magnetic Connection, Battery Operated Locomotive Trains for Toddlers, Compatible with Thomas, Brio, Chuggington --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sk/products/1479865-kidkraft-waterfall-mountain-wooden-train-set-and-table-120-pieces](https://www.desertcart.sk/products/1479865-kidkraft-waterfall-mountain-wooden-train-set-and-table-120-pieces) --- *Product available on Desertcart Slovakia* *Store origin: SK* *Last updated: 2026-10-24*
