Why is the paperback so expensive?
This book is very good, not earth shattering great. Basically make it about your clients and not about you, build relationships, don’t be your clients BFF, be the adult and coach them to their goals. All good stuff we need to hear. However, why the heck is the paperback $38? The regular published price on the back cover shows $24.95.... I feel like someone is scamming us because it’s a popular book... for shame Amazon!!

Opened my mind to a new way of thinking about my coaching practice
This is a terrific book. I could not find it on Kindle, which is how I generally prefer to read, so I bought it first as an audio book and then as a paperback, which was pricey. However, the messages and tools in the book are so important and valuable that I want to be able to refer back to them. Rich Litvin presents a view of coaching that is very different than much of what is taught in the coaching community. He recommends serving powerfully in every interaction, without worrying about "giving away" coaching. While I am still working on implementing is style, between the books and videos I have watched of Litvin coaching, I have changed my approach to building my coaching practice.

The Book I Wish I Had a Year Ago
I won’t go into the details of the book. Look up the TOC.After my 6 months of coach training (Four Streams Coaching in Denver), THIS was the book I wish I had!The remarkable simplicity and common sense approach to creating clients — not acquiring, or gathering or finding — is what makes this book indispensable for any new coach! I use that word intentionally. As of this review I’ve had it for less than a month and it has helped me change how I have intake sessions dramatically. You’re either creating or coaching clients. It’s that simple.Worth. Every. Dollar.

Excellent book, contradicts itself sometimes, but the point gets made.
This is an excellent book for any coach to read. His method of "creating clients" is how just about any high-earning consultant got to where they are. They recognized that what they have, holds value, and then got really good at selecting only those who were worthy of receiving that value. At it's core, it's scarcity marketing. Sometimes a product or service perceived value is directly related to the price paid. The good:-Inspirational. If you're struggling to get clients, this is a great book to read.-He shares his method of creating high earnings, with high impact clients. I also like that he says it is his path, and what worked for him might not be the right way for you. He gives you permission to find what works for you, but also shares what has worked for him.-He drills into you that you can't be needy as a coach. He doesn't spell it out, but being needy de-values your coaching. Be selective, turn down clients that aren't a good fit, and make sure your potential clients are invested. If they aren't, challenge them.- Within the book you can decipher his method of creating clients, however I don't know if even Rich understands the methodology behind why this works. He creates scarcity and has a high rate, which raises his perceived value. The bad:He has some hyperbole in there about how you should not market, not e-mail, don't go to networking events, don't cold call people. After stating this advice, 2 pages later he tells you to call someone right now. He calls it "having a conversation." Semantics my friend. He also has some examples of e-mailing people, which he also says not to do multiple times, but I think does a fair job of showing how e-mail should be used to add value to the client, and/or get them on the phone. Nothing else. He never states this explicitly thought. He is very good at explaining what has worked for him, but it would have been nice if he explained the selling/marketing/psychological techniques behind why this works.Overall I would recommend it. It was very inspiring, and I believe will help me differentiate myself as a coach.

Powerful & timeless wisdom
This book is truly a miracle. There are so so many "experts" who love to give you advice on building your practice. Advice that in fact has absolutely nothing to do with coaching itself but only distances you further and further from what coaching is really all about - service. In this book Steve Chandler and Rich Litvin gives you the power back. The power to honor what you know in your gut to be true.At times the book is painstakingly simple, which is why I believe it's so effective. There are no bells and whistles - it's clear, clean and to the point.Rarely have I experienced that a book has held as much timeless power and wisdom as this one. I couldn’t put it down and it’s become the no.1 book I recommend to anyone who’ll listen (or won’t for that matter!).The book found me at time when I was going through the final woes of my struggles and I can honestly say that this book is what finally pulled me out of misery and completely transformed the way I value myself, my time and my craft as a coach. It’s a huge beam of light in this world.I am reminded of one of my favourite quotes from A Course in Miracles which reads…“A miracle is never lost. It may touch many people you have not even met, and produce undreamed of changes in situations of which you are not even aware.”I consider Steve getting together with Rich and writing this book as a true miracle. A huge testament of love for the craft coaching is. The content of the book is like a pebble being thrown into water, the ripple effect will spread far and wide.I highly recommend the book to you who feels lost listening to experts, you who know in your gut that there's another way of doing business.Much love & light,Mariaestela

Show up and be you and deliver a blinding miracle
Dear CoachThis is A philosophy completely based on ACTION, ACTION and more ACTION.I like the idea of being a blue collar person and logging in and out. Logging out shows you are wasting time and not having a powerful conversation.I love games and there are good ones to keep you busy and working.Hidden in the 'sharp talk' are gems of spirituality - words like serve are used but my favourite is the truth of: in silence you find the space to be creative.Prosperous coach, like all good reads needs to be ready daily not for Information but action. It sits with my Bhagvad Gita - which has a bias to action too. So coach, only if you have a bias towards action should you buy this book.Thank you for readingAmeeta Davis ( my official name)

The most transformative book for coaches there is
I’ve just finished reading The Prosperous Coach, it’s the only business book I’ve actually read cover to cover and I’ve absolutely loved every minute of it. It is PACKED with incredible insights and information I haven't seen or heard anywhere else. I've taken so many incredible nuggets of wisdom from this book, and I know it will remain on my desk as a reference text for the rest of my coaching career. I'll now be quietly implementing what I've read, slow everything down, give powerful coaching experiences, make bold offers, and gently build my coaching practice one dream client at a time. I've already recommended this book to every coach I speak to, and if you are a coach either struggling to gain consistency, or are already a master coach, this book will unlock a deeper level. I am already a better coach for having read it. Thank you so much to Rich and Steve for being so fearlessly generous with their time, experience and wisdom.

A must read book if you run a coaching business
In a fully connected world, the authors remind us that as coaches we only need to connect with one client at a time. They dispel the notion of big marketing, internet lists etc and suggest that making deep personal 1-2-1 connections is the best way to build a sustainable and profitable coaching business. This seems to fly in the face of lots of other current 'wisdom' and coaching experts. It does however, make complete sense to me and I suspect many of those who read the book. Coaching, they remind the reader is a deep transformational process and not superficial or casual. Coaches add tremendous value and their impact goes well beyond the face to face time with a client, and they should charge accordingly. This book will introduce the reader to the true value of their coaching and expose how they may have been underselling themselves. The book provides a reference point from which to compare and contrast other points of view about how to build a coaching business. If you're a professional coach or want to coach, it's a must read.

Exeptional
This book is exceptional in my opinion. It just makes sense and really helps you to focus on what you really want from your business (and life). We are so bombarded with information saying you must do this to succeed, you must have a huge mailing list, you must go to every networking event going etc. This book breaks all the rules and that's why I love it so much. I've never been a person to follow the crowd and I'm not about to start now. If you're a coach and you really want to succeed get this book.

Don't bother reading all the reviews... buy this now!
As a career coach, I have read a fair few books targeted at coaches and this is waaaaayyyyy up there with my favourites. Rich and Steve take a refreshingly different approach to most people who support coaches and my copy of this book is filled with yellow highlighter markings and notes - because the content is just that rich and worth executing. My coaching biz is part time around employed work at the moment and I love that Rich and Steve speak to that. I've read The Prosperous Coach three times or so and implement something new each time which moves me forward - and I will continue to keep doing so.I'm often a book sharer but this one is not one that will leave my library. If you are considering coaching or are a coach (full time or part time)... do yourself a favour and get your own copy today! I really do highly recommend it. Thank you Rich and Steve.
