I had one before and it worked well. I finally wore.it out. With no man around to open jars, it is just the thing for anyone who ever struggled with opening a jar. I had a jar one year and I finally caved and rebuilt this one. Im happy with it. It is a bit noisy but it's also quick so I just put my fingers in my ears while it pops.

Got this for my mom, who was having trouble with salsa jars. She was able to use it on the first try, and it even made her giggle! She went around opening new and resealed jars until I told her not to use up the batteries!

I have shoulder issues so thought I'd give this a try. With batteries installed you place it on top of the jar and press the big button on the top. The two sets of jaws begin closing in on both the lid and the sides of the jar. Sometimes I've had to hold it in place until the jaws gripped. Once they've clamped down, the unit begins to start trying to loosen the lid. Depending on how tight the lid is, the unit will sometimes just pop it quickly off, but other times it seems to really begin to bear down before it loosens the lid. There have been couple of times when it didn't seem to want to work on the next jar as the jaws wouldn't come together. Works best on dry jars. If you pull something from the refrigerator, you will need to ensure the jar is as dry as possible or the jaws might just slip.

This has been a great help for me. I have arthritis in my hands and this opener has been fantastic. The first thing I learned, however, was that you can't use cheap batteries. Oh, well. My grandkids love it. Thinking about getting them one as well.

This product worked great 4 times. On the 5th time I used it the motor started running continuously and would not turn off. I had to force it off the jar and remove the batteries to stop the motor. Once returning the batteries, it just continued to run continuously. Because we do not open jars often, it is 10 months later and past time to return the product. What a disappointment. 😟
