Shackleton's Journey Hardcover – Illustrated, February 18, 2014

Wow, what an incredibly well done book! The pictures are excellent and interesting, the content appropriate, riveting, and accurate, and the organization top notch! I absolutely love this book as have each adult and child I have shared it with. I highly recommend it!

This book is extremely informative without being too lengthy. The language is precise and academic with supporting illustrations that read more like diagrams and infographics than narrative story illustrations. The illustrations provide a lot of information about the expedition members, supplies, and what it must have been like to explore during this time period. I would recommend this to 3rd graders and up. An excellent choice for building up the non-fiction library in your classroom or home. After reading this book, the kids were very excited to see the black and white photos taken during this expedition which are easily found online.

Great book for 3rd -4th graders to get a real idea of what these heros went through. The story telling is good and the illustrations capture your imagination.

The illustrations added to the interest in this book. I read this aloud to my boys, they loved hearing the dogs' names! Great historical children's book, created lots of discussion. I highly recommend.

Beautifully illustrated. The story is well told.

A mix-up with shipping made this an unhappy experience. I think I may reorder the book because of the excellence of the Activity Book that goes with it. Having the detailed background of "Shackleton's Journey" with the activity book would make a nice set.

Beautiful way to explain a fantastic true story with an eye toward accuracy at the same time. The scene with the lifeboat needs no text. Stunning
