LASCO02-3027 Bathtub Sponge Gasket for Waste And Overflow Plate, Grey

I watched a video on this install that made a huge difference. basically you push the overflow pipe back with the butt of the screwdriver and get the old gasket off, then wipe the surface of the tub inside and out. The next trick is key. Take Vaseline and coat the gasket front and back and tuck it into the opening with the large thick side at the bottom. Center it and replace the screws and plate.--- we used the Bluevu overflow system as well. The two work well together to seal the overflow tube to prevent leaks.

It was definitely worth my time and money to purchase this and use behind my replacement overflow tub plate after watching videos explaining the mistakes and bad shortcuts contractors and builders take regarding bathrooms especially when they can get away with it because it’s up to code yet in a place like tropical Soflo, these shortcuts create loose tile, water damage and mold. I’m glad that I educated myself and bought this to go behind the new plate as previously water was getting behind all fixtures and over time created big headache and damage.

Fit fairly well around my emergency valve, but will definitely require some silicone sealant to make it water tight. It appeared to fit better with the thicker side down (near the drain) and the thinner side up (near the faucet).

This thing worked perfectly - The bathtub was leaking around the tub whenever the water line would get up to the overflow drain. This put a stop to that!

This gasket was a great fit for what I needed. The previous gasket had just disintegrated over time. This one could be squeezed into place and created a good seal, helped by being thicker on one side than the other. It made the repair surprisingly simple

Fixed my leak in a few minutes on YouTube and a little Vaseline to install.

When I switched to a push down stopper I had a leak, I replaced the sponge and no more leak.
