Works but slightly less duty cycle than expected
Works well. As expected it takes about 3-4 minutes to warm up and after that it makes fog. Only two negatives, one is that it did not produce fog for as long as we expected - to cover the 4500 cu ft it specs out would require two run times (it will run until the heater element cools down, then waits for it to reheat again before producing more fog). I expected slightly better coverage than that - it covered approximately 2000 sq ft of my house before needing to recharge. Hard to judge the cu ft however so this may just be me. The other negative, which is not the fault of the product, is that you need to realize that fog created from this (and I'm sure any other machine) will rise in the air. It is, after all, heated liquid and so will tend to rise. We had our smoke detector system and central station alarm go off over and over again for 15 minutes and had to clear it all out by opening windows. To avoid this you have to make (or buy) a fog chiller - relatively easy and cheap to do, many instructions on the web tell you how to do so. I made one for our second run and had perfect ground hugging fog. As a bonus the fog was chilly cool and gave you that "spooky chilly" effect alluded to in ghost stories.

I previously owned the Eliminator Fog It 700 before I got this product. Moving up from a 700 watt to a 1000 watt heater had an obvious difference. This 1000 watt fog machine lets me hold onto the button that emits fog way longer. The 700 version, I could hold the fog for sometimes 30 seconds or 15 seconds before it would stop emitting fog so it could heat up some more. This model I only have to hold it for about 15 to 30 seconds because it puts out so much more fog quicker! Also I feel that I could hold that button for longer before it needs to heat up more fog juice.

Great machine with one minor drawback
I owned a 400 watt fogger and it did OK. I wanted to upgrade so I did my research and decided on the Eliminator EF-1000. This fogger sustains a good stream of smoke for a couple of minutes! The fog is thick and does not disipate quickly. I would recommend this item. The only drawback is there is not an automatic setting. the remote must be connected and you have to hold the switch down to produce the fog.

It work ok.
I got this for a halloween set up. I expected more output from a 1,000 watt system. FYI you half to hold down the button on the remote to have the machine work (spring loaded). Instead of sitting there holding the switch down all night I just used a "C" clamp to do the holding for me. The product did work I just need to tweak the setup.

Good Luck, hope it works for you.
This was my second attempt to purchase a fog machine, and while the first leaked horribly on the first try this one is working like a champion. This is a better quality machine than the 700w I purchased that leaked horribly, and it emitted quite a bit of fog. The only downside to this machine is that you have to hold the button to get it to emit the fog. While this will not be an issue for me, it might be to some who do not want to stand around the machine all night. I will definitely be looking into a remote for this device to make it a five star machine.Oct 31, the day this machine was meant for. The machine did not work, tried using the machine packed with the machine, a separate remote with a timer, and still no go. This machine had great reviews and yet when I needed this machine the most it failed. I do not know what it is with expensive fog machines, but I am sticking with the one bought from Target and given to me by a friend.

Disappointing--perhaps too high expectations
I am disappointed in the amount of fog it puts out and if you push the button for a burst of fog, you have to wait for a bit before it can spew more fog. I was hoping to fill our patio with fog, but I am luck to cover someones feet.

Works great, have to hold the button though...
Almost 5 stars, you have to hold the button down continuously as to get fog, should be an auto switch or timmer or something...my bad on not looking into this feature to decide; who would think of checking that funtionality?.....works very well though...

Total Dud!
I purchased this for a Halloween party and I was very disappointed. I thought that I had done my research and figured this one was the most bang for the buck....it wasn't. The amount of fog was dismal at best and then the whole system quit working. I didn't have time to mess with it or really figure out why, but I know that I used the correct "fog juice" and had it plugged up and warmed up as instructed. After only putting out enough fog to make it look like a mini marshmallow farted, it sputtered and then would not come back on. If you are looking for dramatic and have a wide open area (especially outside), I would suggest you look for a different machine. I couldn't even tell you if it would work to fog up a small area since mine stopped working, so either way, I would say to steer clear of this one.
