Bought these dried chiles for Mexican/Spanish recipes. They came in a resealable bag and have lasted a very long time. The guajillo and the arbol chiles have great flavor and aroma and provide just the right amount of heat ... not overpowering (by removing the seeds). They seasoned my dishes perfectly and are exactly what my recipes needed. Will definitely purchase more as needed.

This is the first time I have used these peppers in a recipe, to try a new recipe to me (birria tacos). I rarely write reviews, but I have to rave about these peppers because the quality is outstanding, in my opinion. Again, a newbie with these, but these peppers are not dried out, they are pliable, leathery and seem really fresh. I wanted to get the seeds out. They were strong and soft enough for me to gently stick my knife down into them (after cutting the tops off) and rotating it around to knock all the seeds loose. The flavor after cooking was delicious. I cooked them for about 3 hours whole & then put in blender & put the slurry into a tied up cloth & back into the pot to continue to seep it's goodness into the meat broth. They are fantastic! Buy with confidence!(My husband later bought some other dried guajillo peppers in El Paso, and it was then that I realized that they are not all packaged and made the same. The ones he bought were all dried out and broke easily. I can foresee more of a challenge separating the seeds due to their fragility. I hesitate these on anything but a cheap piece of meat (as if that exists anymore in today's market) or some burger. The bag was torn, as it wasn't strong like the one in the review, and I can see I will have more of a challenge separating the seeds.)

I cook all my food as low in sodium as I can, so I really appreciate non-sodium flavor enhancers. The dried chilis I get at the grocery stores are disappointing, to say the least. I tried this brand and have found them to be flexible and tasty. This is the 2nd type of chili I have bought and have found it as tasty as my last type. I'm going to be looking for this brand for other chilis that buy.

Used these to make Birria and they were just right. Lots of flavor without the heat, which is important in my family. I have never heard of these before until I wanted to make the recipe and they worked out great. Since this was my first time using, I am not sure how to tell how old they were or if they should have had even richer flavor, hence 4 stars.
