Review: Simple, elegant, useful. - As a beginner Iaido student, the weight of this blade is very useful for getting into the art. It allows me to learn technique without muscle strain. This is the second iaito I have purchased... the first was a full weight steel iaito, but after practicing my draws and returns for a few weeks, the full weight blade caused tendonitis in my right arm. This lightweight aluminum blade allows me to perform the same movements without the pain. I hope to be able to go back to the heavy steel blade when I'm healed up, but for now, this allows me to continue to practice. Also, it's comfortable to hold and beautiful to look at. Well worth the price for the Iaido or Kenjutsu student.

**Q: What would be the recommended frequency of maintenance for this blade? What would have to be done during it?**
A: Simple & basic maintenance is easy as the followingUse a soft cotton cloth with mineral oil applying on the blade before & after each use, leave oil on the blade to prevent rust, also repeat it at least once every other month when not using it.Thank you.

**Q: Umm should i be worried if usps delivers instead of ups?**
A: You have no worries on shipping.The sword was packaged and sent in a round thick cardboard tube. The sword was incased with styrofoam and bubble wrap. Very secure packaging.

**Q: Is the katana still available in aluminum? Or is just the Wakizashi?**
A: Iaito sword - katana for iaito practice.

This is a nice training weapon. I was rather skeptical when I placed my order with the thought that I would return it if it does not have the balance that it should have but I was pleasantly surprised. I do recommend it for a student on a budget.
