The tape is relatively easy to work with, the paper is kind of difficult to peel away from the tape but it’s double sided tape so that is to be expected. I kinda roll a corner then I can pull the tape away from the paper. I saw negative reviews stating that the tape doesn’t adhere to furniture-I disagree. It sticks exactly as I’d expect, once you stick it on it doesn’t move. My cat doesn’t even try to scratch where I put it, which is awesome.

The day I received tape I placed on corners of furniture and on places my cats were prone to scratching , as soon as I was done my cats avoided my furniture like the plague, of course I have scratching posts but all cat owners know how furniture attracts those talons and they love sinking them into or climbing up on backs or sides with them, not now they don’t, when I cook I have a piece of cardboard covered in this tape on one side and it keeps them off counters and off table, this is a wonderful value too, oh and whenever company comes I just remove tape and after visit replace it, the tape is pretty thick so it’s not going to break or tear while applying and it’s easy to apply takes less than 5 minutes to put on couch and chairs If you got house panthers and they use furniture for scratching posts I highly recommend this product .

I don't have cats. I have goblins shaped like cats. I have tried everything to keep them out of certain spots in my apt. Duct tape, tin foil, stinky spray, squirt bottles, compressed air, yelling from a distance-- nothing. I was at my wits end thinking I would need to just laminate my carpets to keep them from being destroyed when I found this product and decided to give it a chance. I don't know if it's because the cats can't see it as well, but they don't go near this stuff. I lined the bottom of my doors with it, and the stopped scratching. I used it to cover the part of the carpet they've stared tearing up, and not only do they leave it alone, the tape holds the carpet together. No idea whether it'll actually teach my goblins anything, and the look of having tape everywhere can look a little tacky. But I'll take a little bit of tack over forking over my security deposit any day. EDIT Oct/21: I would like to amend my review and say that this stuff does not come off easy if it gets even slightly warm. I had it on the windowsill and the edge of the freezer door, and it took a long time of peeling it in strips to get it all the way off. Additionally, the stickiness may not deter all cats, but keeping the white backing on was actually much more efficient in protecting furniture. Even if they scratch it, it'll only pull up the paper side, if they can get through it at all. If they could make this tape with a wood panel print to match my doorframes, it would be perfect.

This is a simply, effective, and humane training tool. It requires no negative interaction between you and your cat, nor any physical or emotional harm to your cat. Simply apply the easy to stick on tape to furniture or other objects the cat has been scratching or otherwise harming. Also apply to places you do not wish the cat to occupy. Since the cat hates sticky paws when in contact with the tape, it leaves immediately. I usually leave it in place for a week to give the cat time to learn to keep off forbidden areas. I have used this method for many years with several cats and it works every time. No more scratching etc. Some cats will need a refresher after several months when they think that the coast is clear. Simply repeat the training for as long as it takes your cat to learn. The tape will pull away with wear and on some fabrics. It can be put back or you may need a new strip here and there. It has never damaged anything in my home. Since it works quickly, it it easy to put up with a little sticky inconvenience for a while.

I had high hopes for this anti-scratch tape to protect my furniture, but the results were mixed. While it did deter my cat from scratching in some areas, it didn't seem to be very effective overall. Additionally, I found that it left a sticky residue on my fabric furniture, which was a bit disappointing. It's not a total loss, as it did offer some protection, but I wish it had worked better without causing any damage to my furniture.

I have three cats and MULTIPLE scratch pads and posts. Two of the three STILL use one corner of my couch and an ottoman to give themselves a manicure. This tape has worked! I have NOT tried to remove it yet, but the places I've put it aren't visible so I don't need to remove it. I think it'll be fine though, as I sampled pulling one edge up after it was on for a week, and the fabric of the couch was intact. I'm not sure I would use on leather... I also have an issue with my kitten wanting to jump on my dining room table. This is a NO-NO but I'm having trouble conveying this. I read on a kitten site that putting this tape on placemats and putting the placemats on the table could deter kitty. IT WORKS!! I have five cloth placemats with sticky tape on the table. It's only been a couple of days and kitty is less inclined to jump up after sticking to the mats!! It worked so well that I took a piece of tape and put it on my windowsill where my kitten likes to go BEHIND one of my houseplants and then play in the dirt of the plant. Another NO-NO that I'm having trouble conveying. Fortunately, my windowsills are white, so I didn't peel the tape off of the backing, I simply taped a piece onto the windowsill, thus no 'sticky' surface to peel off the windowsill and risk having an issue. It's a little hard to "start" the peel, but what "peeling" paper is easy? So far so good. I recommend!

My cat likes to claw the side of the couch if he thinks I’ve been inactive for a while. I had Saran wrapped my couch, but that is not really a sight people want to see upon entering your home. 🙀 I got this and he is NOT a fan of the tape!! It’s great. It usually deters him for a week, when he forgets it’s there and puts his paws up again and then has a freak out moment the second the tie beans hit the tape. It is SUPER sticky. As in, my blanket stuck to it and wouldn’t budge, so be careful where you are using it and what is near the tape—it might not come off without damage. That said, I have fabric couches, and it peels off the couch easily with no damage. It it’s a little tough to put on, because you have to separate the top layer. Slightly tricky, but you’ll get it. It’s basically a double-sided version of duct tape. This is probably the best catch scratching deterrent I have found.

I've bought this product to protect the fitted carpets and curtains from cat scratching & stretching. It has been a great solution for my house. Even though not everyone might like how the tape looks (don't worry it is not as visible as you think!) I would recommend it to any cat owner who has a problem with naughty kitty that likes to scratch the carpet or climb on curtains. We stuck the tape quite a while ago to a vast range of materials and it is still working after a few good weeks (no glue marks have been left either). Cats are still avoiding places with the tape and we have a nice house without ripped carpets.

I've ordered this a a few times. I have cats that destroy things with their claws (not intentionally...that's just how they sharpen and shed their claws). The first two times this double sided tape was brilliant. Eventually, though the cats pick away and I have to replace it. This time, the tape I received - same brand, same vendor, same description - came very thick, and there was no way to peel off the backing for it to be double sided tape. It's just a thick tape with the top side glossy. So it's utterly useless to me. I tried to return it but I missed the window by a few days so I'm stuck with it. I'd order it again if I thought the next batch would be double sided again, but given that others have experienced the same disappointment, I'll have to find another brand. Waste of my time given the wait, and of course, waste of money, too
