The best Quilting Hoop … ever!!
WOW! If I could give this more than 5 stars I would. This is the perfect hoop for quilting. I tried using embroidery hoops, but they just cannot handle the thickness of a quilt (quilters know what I mean). Plus it stays in place and keeps my quilting area tight, making it easier to make my stitches. I highly recommend this hoop to anyone interested in hand quilting.

Hand quilter for 35 years likes this hoop
I almost didn't buy this hoop, and I'm so glad I didn't cave to the negative reviews. I've been hand quilting for 35 years. For the most part, I use a floor frame for quilting. But for areas where I'm quilting curves (like feathers) or for smaller quilts, I like a hoop. I've been using the same 14-inch Darice hoop (made in Taiwan) all that time--bought at Ben Franklin's 30+ years ago for $3.49. I needed one that was just a bit bigger to cover the blocks I'm quilting on my current quilt, so I bought this one by Edmunds. Seriously, it's a beautiful hoop. The wood is smooth hardwood, and it feels very sturdy. The fastener is well-made. The depth is just over 1" on the inside hoop and 1 1/8" on the outside hoop--deep enough to hold even a heavy quilt. Yes, it has staples, as some have complained, but so does every other hoop I've ever seen. Yes, it's made in China--isn't just about everything these days, unfortunately? I'm very happy with this one--so glad I finally gave myself an upgrade.

Nice size but not round
I like the size, however it is not perfectly round. I have to feel for the block that holds the inner part together and make sure it is lined up with the screw part of the outer hoop or else I have a gap and my quilt is not held firm. I have had a lot of hoops over the years, this is the most I have ever had to pay and I am disappointed it is not perfect.

Sturdy Quilting Hoop
This hoop is well made and I look forward to using it for hand quilting a vintage quilt top and an English Paper Piecing top.

It’s ok
I was disappointed when I received this one. It appeared to be really thick but it medium thickness. It did not feel sturdy. I will keep it and use it.

I love this hoop
I use for silk on silk embroidery and it’s impossible to find a hoop this size. They go from 14” to 20” in craft and fabric stores. And it’s wonderful wood. I highly recommend.
