## Description

A Diamond Select Toys release! Danger, Will Robinson! DST is known for their incredibly detailed electronic cars and starships and now they've built their first-ever electronic robot! This 10-inch rendition of B9, the friendly helper robot from Lost in Space, features lights and sounds taken straight from the classic sci-fi show. Lights on his head and chest blink constantly while B9 is on and additional lights and dialogue are triggered with the push of a button, including "I will accompany you, you may need protection," "Cannot compute, programming data insufficient," and his famous cries of "Danger!" You can also manually raise and lower his head, open and close his claws, extend his arms and turn his torso to the left and right. He even has wheels so you can roll him around! Comes packaged in full-color window box with try-me feature.Note : The product will not work with Duracel AAA battery.

Review: The B-9 is fully powered and better than ever! - The B-9 robot has been celebrated in many different forms through the years. Up until now, it's been my opinion that Trendmasters held the trophy for the best developed toy robot from this series, based on design and electronic features. But like all champions, they are set up to be knocked down. As of now, Diamond Select holds the title as "Best B-9 robot" in toy history. It's an excellent piece in every way. It goes without saying Diamond Select took the next step from Trendmasters and added the sequenced lights which are gorgeous. It really nails the magical aspects of the robot that bring him to life. They not only did that for the front section, but did so amazingly for the head piece as well. For added love they allow the robot to run with the sequence lights without having to activate his speaking phrases. Clearly Zach and company came to this project with lots of love and admiration for the show. One function not mentioned in the instructions and what may just be a happy accident is, if you hold the green button down and wait for the first phrase to start, it will then play all of them and then turn off. A pretty neat feature never mention! The claws can also be posed open or closed and the head piece can be manually moved up or pushed down but just slightly. The B9 also can be manually swiveled 360 at the waist area. The treads do have wheels but no wind up feature like the Trendmaster (no biggie). The B9 comes already equipped with batteries (3 triple A's). He stands roughly ten inches tall and is quite impressive in person. I have read some concern about the proportions from the top half seated on the lower leg section. From pictures I can see where it seems to be off, but honestly when you get it in person, it all looks completely in scale. I really think it's more an optical illusion like so many figures and toys that can't always be justified fully in photos or video. This is certainly one of those occasions. This is a definite must-have for any serious LIS fan. I absolutely love it.
Review: Switch on bottom of Robot On/Off/Play - There is a small switch on the bottom of the robot tred section . This switch is really a Demo Mode / Off / Play Switch . In Demo Mode , only the phrase " Danger , Danger , Will Robinson will play . Set the switch to " Play " and all the lights function continually and the voice box will blink in sync to the voice while this mode is activated . One activates the speaking via a square green button on the side of the robots middle section . The Off setting turns the entire unit completely off . No Demo or Play Mode will work . There are good instructions inside the box , under the tread assembly . I suspect people are hearing only the 1 Demo phrase and none of the others as listed on the box because of this "hidden" switch. One does not find out about this switch until it is out of the box and are possibly returning the unit as defective . Some people don't like taking theei collectables out of the original box or opening it . It's just a heads up here about the operation of the unit . The robot is a good item / fun to see and to listen to , but the switch could cause one to think it is not functioning properly until one reads the short instruction sheet enclosed .

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does it say "Danger!!!"?**
A: Many people complain that it ONLY says "Danger Will Robinson". PLEASE NOTE: There is a switch on the bottom to turn the toy Off, into "Try" mode or into "Play" mode (i.e., 3 settings). Mine came with the switch in "Try" mode. In that mode the lights only blink on (they do NOT sequence) and it only says "Danger Will Robinson". Set the switch to "Play" mode and you get everything else. It says a ton of things... and the lights are VERY cool.. sequencing left to right rather than just on and off.

**Q: Any chance this company would do 'Robby the Robot'? (with all the bells and whistles. Does not need to walk.)**
A: Right now (2/2020) Walmart has a Robby that walks and talks for $20. It only says two phrases and plays the sci-fi music from the movie. Detail is pretty good for the money.

**Q: Will the toy work with other types of tripple a batteries?**
A: I don't remember seeing any warning regarding different types or brands of double AA batteries to use or not use with the toy. However, if you use standard or alkaline batteries, make sure ALL 3 DOUBLE AA BATTERIES ARE THE SAME (e.g., ALL 3 are standard, ALL 3 are HD, or ALL 3 are alkaline) NO MIXING! Personally, I use an "in-store" brand of alkaline batteries (cheaper). I monitor the batteries after 6-8 months for leaking or corrosion, or energy level, and monitor them every month after that, then replace if needed. I've never had any problems with this system.

**Q: Can the robot speak all the phrases at once instead of pushing the button multiple times**
A: No. You have to keep pushing the button.
