Well made with good audio quality but audio out level on RCA feed not as high as I was hoping
Audio Quality is excellent for a unit at this price. RCA output is rated at 3V but, in my opinion, does not reach this level. I would have preferred a higher output level to feed my HiFi system aux. input. Output level does not increase after the control is turned past about half way so disappointed.

Works as advertised
I bought this for my tv, as the tv doesn't have a headphone jack. This DAC works as advertised, it connects to my tv via the digital audio out, and I can then use headphones to watch tv late at night. This DAC also has a volume control, which is handy as when I am plugged in, the tv volume control no longer works. The only downside of this DAC is that it seems to generate a bit of interference noise. I have to move it around to try and minimize the interference noise. Fortunately, you cannot really hear the interference noise once a movie or tv program is playing. Overall, would highly recommend this unit, it works well and was a good price.

Got this to use an older Mac Mini (without audio over HDMI) with my LG OLED TV that unfortunately did not have optical audio in. I could have run a 3.5mm to RCA cable from the computer to the TV but since the distance was about 10 feet, when I did this it picked up some 60Hz interference from the power cables and I could hear a humming noise. So I ran a mini TOSLINK to regular TOSLINK optical cable form the mac mini to this box and then bought a pair of male to male RCA adaptors and connected this box directly to the back of the TV. Thus the distance the analog signal had to travel was only about 4 inches... :) Now the sound is crystal clear. It is also a bonus that the box is powered by USB so I was able to power it directly from the TV.. saving me another power connector, and also the unit now switches on and off with the TV.. perfect. Having the ability to control the volume allowed me to balance the level with other inputs. Basiclaly this box allowed me to add the missing digital optical input I needed on the TV for $25.. great value and works well. Also liked the metal construction.. no worries about overheating. All in all a great Amazon product win!

After connecting via Optic cable my audio quality is significantly improved, and most importantly there is almost no noise mixed up with my music, making my audio experience enjoyable
