I got the longer pair and they come to the bottom of my t-shirt sleeves, and I have pretty long arms. They are roomy for me. For a smaller person (Under 5' 8") I can see them being way to big. They are soft inside which is nice, I was worried about the seams irritating my skin. I can't speak to the durability of these as mine won't get regular daily use, however they are of good quality, and I can see them holding up for a while. I have clients with reptiles and rodents which these will also come in handy for as I am not fond of handling them, but I don't turn down a client. You do not have a lot of dexterity with them.
