The exterior to this case is a smooth, silicone. First couple of days, I thought I was going to drop it.b. The plastic hinge with stand seems a little flimsy.What I do like:a. The silicone smoothness wears off and becomes easier to grip the more you use it.b. I have an iPad mini from 2012, and still surprised to find cases are still being made.c. My 3 year old loves this case because she can carry her tablet easily. She mastered the plastic stand after the first couple uses.d. The silicone is really thick and well formed. My two year old has put this case to the test. The case is very durable and tuff. But at the same time soft to the touch. I find it easy to plug in and charge. The stand on the back is great to use and locks in place. The handle on top is great for kids to hold on to the iPad and walk around. The case came with a shoulder strap which we used to hang it from the back of the car seat so my two year old could watch videos on a long trip.
