HQ parts for Champion Power Equipment CPE 41115 5000 6000 Watt Gas Generator Carburetor Auto & Fuel Filter & Spark Plug & Intake Manifold

We purchased this carburetor to replace the old one on our champion 6000W generator. The new parts arrived in good condition, and I went out to install it, took apart the entire current carburetor, only to find out that the choke on the new part is not the right type. The choke lever on our champion is held on with a screw at the top of the current carburetor, while this new carburetor has a completely different connection that is not compatible with the original choke lever. I don't really understand why the choke is different, because when we punched the generator's serial number into the website this is the part that comes up.
