VTech Musical Rhymes Book, Red

I purchased this book for my child's first birthday, she is now 21 months old and still enjoys playing with this. VTech toys have so far proven to not only be very interactive for my child, but also highly durable.This book has two settings, one where the nursery rhymes will be sung to you as the pages turn, and another that features just the music of the nursery rhyme so the child can sing by themselves. There are also two volume adjustments on the back of the book which I certainly appreciate as a parent.The singing of the nursery rhymes, while annoying to me is very much enjoyed by my toddler. Each page features a little character or item that can be moved around that fits the theme of the song.Nursery rhymes featured are: A-tisket, A-tasket, Little Boy Blue, Old MacDonald, Hey Diddle Diddle, Are you Sleeping, and Here we go Round the Mulberry Bush.The colored keys on the side of the book can be played like a piano on the music setting, and on the "read" setting the book names each color and also plays the corresponding instrument sound to the key.This book has been used for many months and is still in near perfect condition. I highly recommend this nursery rhyme book for kids if you are looking for a durable and engaging toy.

I bought this toy when my one year old daughter broke her VTech book that was very similar. I'm thinking it was an older model of this one as it was different, but a lot like this one. Upon receiving this, my husband and I noticed right off the bat that it was made much better than the one that my daughter broke. She absolutely loves the new one just as much if not more than she did the old one. She carries it around with her and hands it to my husband or I whenever she's wanting to get in our laps. The old one had things that were electrical inside the pages while this one seems to keep all the wires in the middle and back page. She is still pretty rough with this one, but so far it has withstood her throwing it around and banging on it. Absolutely love this toy for my child and love singing the songs along to her. Cool that it has the instruments on the side as well. After she broke her previous book, I came on Amazon looking for an exact copy of it. Luckily I also saw this one and it was priced much better than the other. Very glad to have this toy and hope that it holds up for my new daughter than is on the way! :) Your child would love to have this toy!!

My 1 year old daughter loves this book! The inside is interactive with buttons that slide to make sounds or play music. The 5 buttons sticking out the side with musical instruments can be used as a mini piano when the book is closed. My baby loves music and this has quickly become one of her favorite toys. We will be flying from coast to coast this summer and i know that this is one of the few toys we will be taking on the plane. It keeps her busy and entertained and it has a volume control so i can turn down the sounds to not disturb the other passengers. It encourages reading readiness and brain growth though rhymes and music. The book is colorful and made to withstand the rough play of toddlers. It came ready to use, no assembly or batteries required, which is great for busy parents.

Nice, but it had a short limit on how long it held my child's attention span. My baby is 20 months and I know his attention span is short by nature, but this is what I call an intermittent toy. It's nice for a little while, then put it away for a week or so. Then use it again and it's almost like new. Not a daily stand-by, but can be effective periodically.

I bought this for my daughter as a Christmas present and she plays with it every single day! She was 6 months then and she's almost 9 months now and still loves it. It's one of the only toys that can keep her entertained for a while. She loves to flip the pages and smiles every time it starts singing. It has a couple things you can twist and slide as well as the buttons that teach colors and instruments which makes it more fun. I also love that if she's teething and decides to chew on the pages, they don't get ruined like her touch and feel board books do.

Hours of fun until the interest wanes but that's how it goes with little kids. Product is pretty sturdy, my kid chucks it regularly on to hard surfaces and it still holds up and works just fine. Volume setting switch with two levels is on the back. Only part that seemed odd is some of the buttons with instruments on them, the sound doesn't actually say the instrument for all of them. Minor inconsistency but other than that the songs with or without words, the colors, and the different play settings are great.

These books are my favorite. My Grandson loves these types of book. Well worth the investment. The bright colors, the music, as well as the interaction throughout the book, draws his attention back to reading,. A subject matter that we can’t afford to get lost in our homes, schools, etc...Reading is such a vital, must have skill,! For the sake of our future children & grandchildren we must encourage reading.

This is really adorable and for kids that love books, this is perfect. My 9 month old son loves the music and the flashing lights. It's very colorful too! Also, he can't rip the pages out so that's a plus! The thing my husband mentioned he didn't like was the singing. A couple of the songs are good but there's a few that can get annoying. Not to mention you'll probably be replaying them in your head the entire day. Other than that, my son LOVES this!
