Games Workshop Citadel Technical: Valhallan Blizzard

Traditionally one would use flock (speckled bits of textile) and glue to create the snow effect they want, but this paint basically does that in such a way as spreading grout on a surface and shaping it. It is not the only way I will hobby, the old way works too, but his is a nice alternative.

This is more freshly fallen and fluffy, excellent on other textured paint/sand, etc. Of the snow I've tried (Vallejo, AK) it's the smoothest, brightest, and most vibrant. It's less realistic and more fantastical - a personal preference to me at least.

Used this product to add snow to the base, the fur around boots and the beard. It worked as expected. Only negative was price. Citadel products seem to run a bit higher than other similar products. For example vallejo snow effect is much larger and about the same price.

I purchased this to make snowy bases. The one I received was factory sealed, so no blame to the seller, but it was frankly awful. It had a consistency like cake batter, very little liquid, and was far from spreadable like the other Citadel Technical paints, not even with a small tongue depressor. I diluted it by small measures with distilled water, thinking perhaps it needed to be greatly thinned. It did not absorb the water well even with lengthy mixing and shaking.So the batch I got was pretty unworkable, and not comparable to the other Citadel Technical paints I have used. It could have been a batch issue which keeps me just short of condemning it, but if you get a pot like I did, you will likely give it the 1-star treatment.

Cant say i care for it very much. The grain size is too big for 32mm scale; Should be half the size it currently is.

It was exactly what I needed to create the base for my miniatures.Works really well to create Arctic conditions to give my players mini’s more flair.(Note: the skulls were not from this listing)

Very light and soft technical paint for bases. Perfect in addition to any grassy terrain as its so light it sits ontop of the grass without dragging or weighing down.

Really great snow effects for basing. I used this for 15mm Flames of War, and got great results with that (in fact, I won a local painting competition...)

I start this review to say that there is nothing wrong with the paint itself - hence the two not one star rating, however, having to pay £9.50 for it is clearly ridiculous. The seller does not use proper postage and therefore there is a postal surcharge/handling fee of £3.50 on top of the listed price. Moreover, the delays this causes means you should only buy this product if extortionate price and no urgency and waiting two weeks for delivery is not going to be an issue for you.Not impressed

Thought I was ordering a texture paint from the bottle and base shown in the picture. Description says technical so I missed this fact. I Feel that the picture is not the product being sold and recommend if your going to buy please be aware and read description carefully. Will try it but not holding my breath for intended result.
