Built strong but you may need to break out the wood working tools to size it
A neurological problem affecting my foot suddenly put me in the market for a cane. I tried the more conventional flat handle cane, but was not happy with the way it felt in my hand. I came across these knob type canes on Amazon that are made from a hame mounted on a stick. I had to look it up to find out its a knob for adjusting a horse collar! When it first arrived I immediately noticed scratches and dents on the hame and a couple nicks on the stick body. Also the two screws that were used had sharp burrs on the heads. There was no rubber foot included either. But the worst problem turns out to be the shape of the shaft itself. The cane measures some 38" with a rubber foot installed, so I had to cut off a few inches to fit me. Normally this is not an issue, but for this cane it is. The shaft is flatish except that it gets rounded right as it gets to the end, so if I cut off a few inches, the shaft would be too big and rectangular to fit a rubber foot! So I had to cut the top, which means removing the shaft, cutting it and reshaping the end to fit the hame - not something everyone can even do. To make this thing work I ended up buying new #8 brass screws, 1" rubber feet, and dark walnut wood stain to refinish the part I had to reshape. The overall weight is about 1lb 6oz - a bit heavier than most canes. The only reason I even bothered working on it to make it nicer is the feel of the knob. Honestly the 2" knob is such a perfect fit in my medium sized hand I can't imagine using anything else for a cane handle. The shaft is a bit stouter and heavier than most canes, which adds weight but also strength.

Don't. Just don't.
I thought I was getting "handcrafted cane. I got pure junk. The wood looked like it was made of pressboard with wood veneer slapped on it. It is not wood grain, it's cheap 80's furniture finish. The handle is about 3 sizes too big for the shaft. There is a sizable gap all around the hole for the handle. I haven't measured but it looks a good 5mm , 3 at the least. The bottom of the cane itself is beat up, there was no tip included. The handle was wrapped with a little clear plastic bag and clear tape, with a red barcode on wrapped around it. . Return? Not sure how that would happen as I didn't choose outlet and I wouldn't accept it even if I had. Set up a return within 5 minutes of having it. Be warned, the return is through USPS so keep the box if you decide you don't want it. They won't pick it up without one.

Good, but...
The product was as advertised. Solid, good appearance but... as described in other reviews the brass was noticeably scratched. I am not going to return it, I know it will get scratched, it's the nature of the product. BUT it would have been nice to have an unmarred product to start.

Wr
I received the item today. The brass handle on the top of the walk-in stick does not fit properly was loose. The brass to wood fit was poor large gap on one side overall product not recommended. Please do not buy really poor workmanship.

Rushed finish
Itโs a decent cane, but I was a bit disappointed in the finish. Rather than looking like โtwistedโ oak, it looked more like an oak stick with bumps. There isnโt much detail to the โtwistโ effect.

The perfect cane?
I just got this cane. I was so impressed, I decided to do an initial review. WOW! I did not expect it to be so good! It feels very good in the hand and itโs heavier than I expected, but perfect! On top of that, itโs gorgeous! To the reviewer who said itโs the nicest cane heโs ever seen, I agree! It looks so good some one may try to steal it. (That would be a mistake).

Well made and comfortable
Well made, solid, no wiggle. The hame fits nicely in my palm making the whole thing more of an extension of my arm rather than some appliance being dragged about. Adjustment was required whereby I had to reduce its length by 2.5". This was easily accomplished by removing the rubber tip and cutting off the required amount. Here things could get tricky for some as there's a taper to the cane and it's not round, it's more oval. Fortunately the rubber tip was stretchy enough to be reinstalled without reducing the shaft size, but if I had to shorten it any further, one may need to whittle / sand and stain things to get things back together.

This is one badass cane!! (meant in a very, very good way if you were in doubt)
If you gotta use a cane, make it a badass one like this. I love everything about this cane. My favorite feature is the brass handle: exceptional! The way the brass warms in the hand makes it a real pleasure to hold. The handle has very nice weight to it without being heavy and it gives the cane very nice balance. Ever been left feeling a little vulnerable needing a cane to walk? Wouldn't take much for that brass knob to really ring someone bell if they were to try anything.

Funtional and elegant
I bought this to help with my balance. Traditional aluminum canes look like something from a hospital and that's not the look I was seeking. This is elegant and beautifully made. The rubber tip provides good grip and means you can adjust the length by removing the tip and sawing the excess length from the bottom of the cane. The brass knob at the top complements the polished wooden shaft. My only criticism is the use of wood screws to attach the knob to the cane. Surely there is a glue that would do the job without having to drill holes in the knob.

Quality item
Nice piece of craftsmanship. Solid, well finished and a good cross between rustic and refined. Br sure to check the hame when you receive it as mine was badly scuffed and actually dented and cracked. It was shipped with only a plastic bag to protect the brass handle and it suffered quite a bit of damage. Can't believe they send things out like this. If yours arrives in this shape contact the company directly as you will receive far better customer service and a proper solution instead of a small discount or refund offer. The purchase price is good but the shipping and handling not so much. Recommended product.
