Both children and adults enjoy this book
Both children and adults enjoy this book. Even as young as three can fully take part in the fun. Great book.

doesn’t quite fit with our guiding statement for purchases.
My assistant and I couldn’t stop laughing when we read I Say Ooh You Say Aah for the first time. We shared it with a ninth grader who didn’t think it was funny at all – and didn’t seem to “get it.” We are anxious to share this with our younger elementary students. I do think that John Kane knows what will make young children laugh. From the back cover – “This is no ordinary book. Everything I say you must do. So when I say Ooh you say Aah. [It is] a laugh-out-loud interactive picture book.” While the text may not seem funny to just read it – when you read it and think about the instructions and how listeners are supposed to react – that is when the laughter comes in.John Kane is both author and illustrator for I Say Ooh You Say Aah. His illustrations are simple and boldly colored. Although this is in a picture book format, many of the pages do just have words on them – big, bold words of instruction.I Say Ooh You Say Aah is a Children’s Choice Award finalist. I read the copy I purchased to add to our library so that our students can participate in the voting process.Potential problem area – the book does contain “under pants” which may be a problem for some audiences. While I found the book to be hilarious, I’m not sure I would have purchased the book for our library had I known the content before purchasing because it doesn’t quite fit with our guiding statement for purchases.

Cute
This is a nightly read. The story is cute and involves some interaction with the story itself. It isn't meant for an older crowd, but I can see it being read to kindergartners, maybe first graders. It's fun and sweet, the fact that the way the story was written to involve its audience makes it sweet.

Interactive humor. Hold on to your belly!
My grandsons and I have laughed until our sides and cheeks ached! Trying to keep up with the books instructors through their laughter was a challenge in itself for the boys. Their parents enjoyed listening from their room. Great memories. This is a very interactive book. It requires the reader and listener(s) are paying attention. My grandsons are 3,4, and 5 years old. Each had their own take on the humor. I would love to see how a group of school children would react.

Fun!
My kids loved this book! Just make sure not to read it when you are trying to get them to calm down or be quiet. Mine got very loud participating as we read. lol

Fun book
Such a fun book. I feel it’s a little too old for my 5 and 2 yo because they usually don’t remember what action goes with what. We like reading it as a family because then either my husband or I can remind them of what to do without interrupting the story.

Brilliant
Hilarious read with our 3yo. Even our oldest finds it fun and can go through it with his brother. You're not going to shape them into the next Shakespeare with this, but you'll enjoy some quality time and have a laugh with them at the same time. Go for it.

Great fun
A very silly and great fun interactive book. Underpants, silly noises and a cute donkey - it’s all going on here. Highly recommended for story time with a bit more involvement.
