I never like to post reviews immediately, until I can use and reflect on their use. I never soak this, I always rinse off with warm water and a bit of soap (depending on what was on it, like onion). I then dry and put up. It has held up beautifully. I think this will last a really long time. We use it to put pizza on straight out of the oven, cut vegetables and fruits, and chop nuts on. Like Goldilocks, I have tested and used a variety of bamboo boards and each has had a problem. One fairly expensive one was too heavy and large to be moved anywhere. A lighter perfect weight inexpensive board (which was also was indestructible) was really too small. Another had its seams split within weeks.
