I should have made this purchase long ago! Most of the bells and whistles on the cheaper models are useless for one reason or another, for example the alarms aren’t loud enough, can’t see all of the alarm threshold settings together on one screen meaning you have to toggle through different screens to keep up, proves are generic and don’t hold up and lack of consistency. This meter is well made (device and probes), well protected with rubber outer protector, displays temp at the transmitter & the receiver, clip to hang from belt that transforms into a stand to keep it upright and visible, rotating clip on transmitter as well for hanging in cooking area, alarms are loud enough to be useable but not overwhelming.....I could go on but you probably get the point. I recommend the soft carrying case that is available from another company because you will want to keep this one around.

Ordered these to replace my original TP-20 probes. I have only used once, but seem to work just as well as the originals. I like the fact that the ambient temp probe is shorter, as my original probe is way too long and takes up too much space for many of my smoking setups. Also, I checked their accuracy with the boiling water test and they read 211F, so pretty good. I’ll update this as I use them more, but for now I’m giving them 4 stars. ***UPDATE: I’ve been using these probes multiple times a week for almost a year now, and they’re still working great! Changing my rating to 5 stars

As noted by other reviewers, this product is compatible with ThermoWorks. Compared to the probe that came with my ChefAlarm (Pro-Series High Temp Cooking Probe TX-1001X-OP), these read 1 degree lower at 80 degrees Fahrenheit , and 2-3 degrees lower at 200 degrees Fahrenheit. For me, this wasn't a deal breaker, especially since these two probes were cheaper than a single Thermoworks temp probe. I'll update the review when I test at higher temperatures.

Needed to check the accuracy of my oven. This therometer did the trick. Just place probe on the oven rack, and from the external displace AND the app on my phone, could watch the temperture rise and fall. I also used it this morning the monitor the temperature of milk I had scalded for yogurt. Even tell you the ambient temperature of the room if just left on the counter.

Reordering now after a good six years out of the last set from this supplier.

I've been using these for almost three years. The shorter probe gets used every cook, and I smoke just about every weekend. I am not careful when I wash it and it has just started to show signs of needing to be replaced. I'll buy this again.

New out of the box and placed in a 16 oz cup full of ice and water and allowed to equilibrate "Calibrated" instant read thermometer: 32F TP-20 Old probe: 33 Just received new probes New probe: 35 New air probe: 35 New probes are consistent, but a little off. Probably close enough for coarse work. Unfortunately the TP20 can't be calibrated. New probe is longer and straight, so I had to make sure I was measuring temperature at the tip in the same location as the air probe, old probe, and instant read.

I purchased the T-20 dual probe cooking thermometer a couple of years ago. It's perfect for turkey frying as you can monitor both the cooking oil and the turkey's internal temperature at the same time. This year, I was unable to find the oil probe (ambient temp probe). I contacted the vendor and told them that it had gone missing and needed to buy a replacement. After providing them my Amazon order number, they shipped me a new probe NO CHARGE, even though I admitted that I lost it! That was going well above what I had expected. Thanks!!
