Check Cradlepoint web site for supported devices before you buy.
I bought the CTR 350 and then bought a AT&T USB Connect Mercury 885 Sierra Air Card Modem from AT&T. The CTR 350 does not support the AT&T USB Connect Mercury 885 Sierra Air Card Modem from AT&T at this time. I contacted Cradlepoint and they said that until their engineering department tests the AT&T USB Connect Mercury 885 Sierra Air Card Modem from AT&T it won't be supported and won't work. The modem does work in all 3 of my laptops. The CTR 350 is a good product but until it supports the AT&T USB Connect Mercury 885 Sierra Air card Modem from AT&T I can't use it.

Great little travel router, really easy setup
This is a great little router. Hook it up to the network in your hotel room and pay one fee no matter how many users are on the network. Or plug in a data modem (I have a Sprint Novatel U720 that worked as soon as I plugged it in), and let multiple users or devices share the connection. Use a laptop and watch video on your iPod Touch at the same time!It has a "bounce" page implemented that you'll see as soon as you connect to it. Automatically allows you access as long as you know the MAC address. Easy to change passwords, SSIDs etc if you want though. My complaints are minor but I took off a star for them--1) the power brick is WAY to big for a device this small, and doesn't have foldable prongs, and 2) the device is chargable via USB but Cradlepoint doesn't include or sell a USB charger cable for the device. Stupid.

Excellent 3G router - works with Cricket UM185C
I purchased this router because I had problems finding a router compatible with Cricket Wireless's UM185C 3G modem. Netgear routers (the brand I usually use for wireless routers) do not work. After considerable online research, this router was the only one that listed the Cricket UM185C modem in its compatibility list (ALWAYS check the compatibility lists from the modem manufacturer before you buy!).Upon arrival, the router did not recognize the modem, a problem that was solved with a firmware update (you'll need version 2.5 or newer). After the update, which was relatively simple, the router recognized the modem and we were in business. The router itself is very small, maybe a quarter the size of a typical wireless router (a little bigger than a deck of cards). It has no external antenna. Nevertheless, after getting it up near the ceiling, it produced a signal strength throughout our house comparable to a fill-sized Netgear router. The http interface is intuitive, at least as good as Netgear, perhaps better - initial setup took maybe 10-15 minutes, including updating the firmware. The router does not automatically configure itself for secure wireless, but setup is simple and worked on the first try (WPA2-personal). You can "refresh" (read: reset) your modem through the web interface (on the info screen, hitting the "refresh" button does not merely update the information displayed, it resets the modem).Note that the router is only IEEE 802.11 b/g (not n), but if your main purpose is to distributing a 3G connection (as opposed to streaming A/V files or otherwise sharing large amounts of data), that won't make any difference - your internet connection will run at maybe 500 KBS to 1 MBS, and 802.11 g proves //54 MBS// - your 3G modem will be the bottleneck, not the router (and 802.11 g is compatible with older devices). Unless you have a //really// old computer hanging around, set the router to run in "802.11 G only" mode for a slight increase in performance.Overall this router is excellent. If you are a Cricket customer (a good option for 3G if you don't want to sign a contract), it's your best (and perhaps only) bet, supporting all three of the modems available through Cricket.

The only reasonably priced router with this much product support.
I use verizon wireless' UM175 usb dongle for internet, and I spent quite alot of time searching for a means of enabling me to use the bandwidth I already pay for on more than one device at a time. I didn't even have to fiddle with any complicated setup, just plugged it in to the usb port and the cradlepoint negotiated the connection in 2 minutes flat and without a hitch.I can connect up to 16 devices wirelessly with this router, including my laptops, psp and wii. Security was easy to set up, but not even entirely necessary as it requires the last 6 digits of the router's mac address as a default setting. Setting up enhanced security was easy with a very user friendly interface.I do notice a VERY slight decrease (approx 10%)in internet/data speeds through this device, not enough to be a problem but it is enough that I noticed. The only other router that officially supports the UM175 is another cradlepoint router that costs over $200. According to verizon support, the only way to share an internet account on more than one device is to buy their Mifi (which is also $200, and would require my signing a new contract and losing my grandfathered unlimited plan), so I am extremely satisfied-a $75 price tag and a minute loss of speed is a small price to pay for what I'm getting with this cradlepoint. It cannot be run on batteries and didn't come with a dc adaptor to make it truly portable, but the adaptor input is pretty standard...I had several lying around the house that worked. It's also very small-palm sized-and without the usual wires and antennas it is much less of an eyesore than most routers.

Does not work
Did not work as advertised. Does not work with Apple or Windows phones. Save your money and don't purchase this.

Check the firmware version before configuring!
When I received the router, I went through and configured everything then nearly tore my hair out trying to figure out why it wasn't working. CradlePoint's web site going down for several hours while I was working on it didn't help. It turned out the router that was shipped to me had an older firmware version, one that was incompatible with my cellular modem. When CradlePoint's web site came back up, I downloaded the latest firmware, which fixed the problem, but also wiped out the configuration, forcing me to start over from scratch.Anyone who buys this router should check to see if they have the most recent firmware BEFORE they start to set things up.
