Great Replacement Board for HT Programming Cables

Was easy to swap out some bad boards in my Baofeng programming cables with minimal work. Product had enough solder on it that I just needed to reheat the spot and add the cable in. No issues with drivers or software. Would recommend.FYI, for step by step instructions, search for "Miklor Build your Own Programming Cable" and this page will show you all the correct pinouts for the cable.

Jumper wires are short

1 star deduction because jumper wires are too short.

Great for connecting to Nextion Screens

Works with all of the Nextion screens I have used, so no more microSD card needed. When setting up: red to 5v, black to ground, blue to Rxd, Yellow to Txd (yes the blue and yellow wires are "swapped" from the output of the screen). Also I needed to download the driver from the manufacturer of the chip, very easy just google : CP210x Universal Windows Driver.Good product, also somehow the shrink wrap just makes it feel more secure which is good.... IDK.

Some of them don't work

These are supposed to be CP2102 chips from Silabs. Most of them work fine, but some of them seem to have the CP2102 chips flashed with custom firmware and they won't work, they show up as some modem or printer or otherwise show up as a device incompatible with Silabs drivers.I suspect some of these chips are recycled chips, desoldered from e-waste

Doesn’t have reset

I give this a 4 star review because it works as intended. But it doesn’t do everything I wanted.I used it for an atmega 328 project but I am left needing to reset manually for uploading arduino sketches. Over all not bad. Worth the money

No free cable for 4 boards

I did not received four set of free cables for these four board as indicted above.

Random crash on USB 3.0 splitter ports.

The device works well when connected to USB 2.0 ports, with about 4 SerialPort error events per 1 Million characters, but regularly crashes when connected via a USB 3.0 splitter after a random number of characters, usually with SerialPort.BytesToRead > 0 and system error on SerialPort.GetAvailable. Device has to be physically disconnected from port to re-initialize.

0 of the 4 worked

The quality control for these are awful and 0 of the 4 I received worked. One of the 4 was completely dead. When plugging into USB none of the lights came on. The other 3 weren't recognized by Linux as a CP2102 USB to UART because they are programmed with the wrong USB VID and PID. It might work with some changes to udev but I expect these to simply be plug and play in any Linux system. The header pins were all soldered in at an angle. Functionally this would work but it just looks bad and sloppy. One of the 4 was missing one of the pins.
