Review: what do you mean - I am 87 and read Marguarite Henry when I was a 10 year old and LOVED her stories. Just went to Italy to see the Palio and heard about this book right before the trip. The book really enhanced the experience for me!!!!!! Review: Horse racing from ancient times to present in Italy. - Our hero in a young boy from ancient Seinna. He loves horses. Condition shipped: Wornout
The story and author are great. Sadly, this was a gift and the bookseller we bought this through sent a wornout book. The hardcover binding was frayed down to the cardboard edge and the cover was mangled. It looked to be used or second hand and since this was to be part of a library collection of classics, it was disappointing. Sigh.

WOW!
Sorry so late, but I gave this as a gift for Christmas and was EXTREMELY shocked to see how good in condition it was! I have been looking for years to find the perfect 1st Edition book that was not an old library book. It was in Very-Close to Perfect Condition! I also received it so quickly- just in time for Christmas. I have yet to read it because I don't want to ruin the book. The receiver of the gift was very touched and surprised at how good of condition the book was in. He had also been looking for years to find the perfect one. Thank you so much!

Great book to read to the eight to twelve year old children in your life.
A favorite children's book for several decades. Read it to my children multiple times in the early nineties and bought this new addition for my grandchildren.
