2011 Hallmark NAUTILUS - Walt Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea Ornament QXD1069

Excellent reproduction of Disneys Nautilus submarine, and when thy dropped the price down to a reasonable amount, I bought one.

Loved the Disney movie as a child, enjoyed the Verne story as a youth, and was fascinated by submarines ever after. To find a resin ornament that is actually light enough to hang on a Christmas tree is remarkable, and to find one of such intricate detail — that even lights up! — is doubly so. It looks quite nice "as is", though I will do a little detail painting of my own to improve its appearance. This Nautilus is perfect for anywhere you need such a device, whether as a Christmas ornament, birthday cake topper, rear-view mirror dangle, miniature giant squid attack diorama . . . just remember it's designed as an ornament, and so lacks the sturdiness one gets with a Hot Wheels or Matchbox car, so don't play rough!

When i first saw 20,000 Leagues under the sea back in 2001 when i was in 3rd grade i loved the movie. I loved Kirk Douglass' character in the movie, the hero who would help the professor, and his assistant escape being held prisoner aboard Nemo Submarine. For a christmas decoration this was amazing! it even lights up and looks like the one from the Disney movie!

The ornament came with a nice post-it note attached to the box indicating that the team tested the ornament and even installed a fresh set of batteries. The ornament would not turn on when the activation button was pushed. After further investagation I opened the battery to find... NO BATTERIES!!!

I've wanted a small model of the Nautilus for YEARS! I didn't know they existed. I can't believe the DETAIL in this Nautilus model. The color is great and it even lights up! It is too neat just to hang it on the Christmas Tree once a year so I put mine in a display case. GREAT price!

It looked cool and I was so excited to give it to my dad for his birthday. I put in the batteries to show him that it lit up and it only lit up for a split second and went out. I got new batteries hoping that was the issue. Nope. I really want to purchase one for him, but hate the idea of having another one that doesn’t work.

Small, but well worth it for the collector in all of us.

I got the Nautilus very fast from my seller, but this is no quality product. The led lights were out of order and the peak was made of cheap plastic. I was very astonished about the sice. I am sad and send the 12 cm model back and would pay not more than 10€ for it. Two stars, one for the fast seller and one for the idea of a nautilus model.
