Musical, delightful, stunning. Really.
Double-bass fiddle fans, cello lovers everywhere REJOICE: Your subwoofer from heaven is just a click away. I never thought a subwoofer could be described "musical." But that's the word for the Focal CMS Sub.Listening right now to reference recording of the Guarneri Quartet playing Beethoven B-flat Opus 130 and let's just say it sounds like I have Peter Wiley (cellist) right here in the room with me.One heads-up: The manufacturer fairly shouts at you to allow a full 10 hours of burn in at moderate listening levels. For good reason. When I first set these up they sounded like...well, almost nothing. I thought I had defective subwoofer or I'd just been played for a fool. It was so awful, in fact, that I just let them play by themselves overnight, turning off my satellites (a pair of A7x, low-pass filter set to about 85 Hz) so all I was left with was a barely audible low rumble.Anyway, about an hour ago, I flipped on the Adams' and...WOW. I have never encountered a piece of audio equipment with such a dramatic (not to mention fast) burn-in transformation. Anyway, consider me one happy and amazed customer.

This sub is serious - extremely tight and musical. The xlr pass through works perfectly with my Dynaudio studio monitors and the footswitch is very convenient.
