I like the product. It’s important to know that it is salt. I didn’t add as much salt to my brine as I normally would. I found a picture of an older jar online that gave amounts to use. The new jars don’t have that information. Says to use 1/8 tsp per pint. I used 1/2 tsp and the pickles are great.

Let me be honest, I have never made pickles before. My family always had "the ladies" who made the best pickles ever, and I was a fool for not paying attention. Anyways, fast forward several decades and my family are huge pickle eaters, as long as they are crunchy. I had a bumper crop of cucumbers this year and decided to give it a go. They turned out pretty good for a first try. I made pint jars and in all my research it said to use 1/8 tsp per jar, so that's what I did. Overall, they were not my ancestors pickles, but they were pretty good and had a fair amount of crunch. I will try it again at a later date.

I love this product. Every year when I make bread and butter pickles these are added to the jar when waterbathing. I keeps the texture of the cucumber and onion perfect!
