31350 #2 Aluminum Strap Wrench, 2-inch Capacity Adjustable Strap Wrench

Unless you're working on apartment drainage or street pipes, this is most likely the one you need around the house. Super simple to use and works like magic. Once you get the hang of it, you can get an enormous amount of torque without slipping. Used it many times with polished hardware, and even standard brass nipples to keep the finished work clean and not all scarred up from wrenching. I've even used it with a rubber mallet to loosen tight parts that needed to be reused. It just works.

This strap wrench can twist the most stubborn items apart. I purposely bought it to wrench the impeller off my pool pump shaft, since it's that glass-filled plastic and you can't really grab it with a metal tool without risking damage. In the meantime, I have unscrewed the plexiglass bowl from an air pressure regulator / filter that was stuck hard and defied all other attempts, and now use it regularly to screw the whole-house water filter canisters off when changing the filters. It works way better than the cheap plastic wrench that came with them. Additionally, it's the world's most overkill jar opener. You have to be careful because this tool can and will apply enough force, if you let it, to easily crush something thin-walled or breakable. One note for potential buyers; there are numerous buying options and the title says "2 inch capacity". If you get the #2 with the 24" (600mm) strap, you can unscrew much bigger diameter objects than 2 inches. Also, be aware that, although the item is pictured painted RIDGID red, you may get a gray one. I did.

It kind of works, A plumber and myself tried to use it for some brushed nickel plated stop valves and pipes to match. We tried for an hour to get the pipes tight enough to not leak. But to no avail. We did finally wrap the cloth strap around the pipe and placed a regular pipewrench over that to tighten the pipe water tight.

Works great for taking off silencers. Especially those with a lock ring like SureFire.

Much better than a cheap Chinese clone. Quality tools. Used ridgid since I was an apprentice, never let me down.

Gets into tighter situations than the larger No. 5 version. Love it.

It's a Rigid tool! Works likes it's supposed to, and can 'torque like nobody's business'. Maybe a little pricey - You get what you pay for.
