ZL1 Addons Premium Tow Hooks Compatible with 14-23 Corvette (C7 & C8)

I do track days in my Z06 and the track recommends tow hooks. If you don't have them and you're stuck on the track - they'll hook onto whatever is handy and pull it out with that. If that happens - you usually end up with bent or broken suspension parts or body parts. So I thought it was a good idea.You can get some very inexpensive tow hooks if you look around. But take a close look and you'll find that they aren't functional. They're just for looks. If the wrecker tries to pull you out of a sand pit with those cheap ones on your car - they will break and you'll still be stuck with an upset track worker.I wanted functional hooks that looked good too. These are solid and well built. I'm just going to leave them on whether I'm on the street or the track. They look good enough for that and then I won't have to bother with taking them on and off and figuring out where to keep them when they're off. Hopefully I never have to "use" them.

These tow hooks are substantial - the metal is thick, the bolts and hooks are sturdy - just what a tow hook should be.The design of the tow hooks had to accommodate the way Chevy placed the receptacles. The front on i very deep inside the grill, the front tow hook had to be long enough to clear the front plastic grill. The rear receptacle is angled down and toward the center of the car, and there was paint over-spray inside, in my case. To install the first time, I turned it maybe one rotation, then removed it and cleaned the paint dust/residue off of the threads of the tow hook post. Then inserted it 2 turns, and removed it to brush off paint residue. I had to do this about 5 or 6 times before the threads were clear and I was past the paint residue. NOTE, this is NOT an issue with the tow hooks, it is an issue with the receptacle.If you seat the tow hooks firmly, when you remove them by turning the hook part, it might un-thread from the post. I carry a 5/8" wrench and a 3/4" wrench to remove the post if it separated from the hook. (Front and back posts need different size wrenches.)

Well built, these are not the lite weight, for looks only tow hooks!

Beautifully crafted, USA made. What's not to like other than the price, and in this case, at least you get what you pay for. It is astounding that this is not included in a $75,000 car! There is even a place for one in the battery cover. I think that Corvettes sent to Europe have to have them included. The vendor stated that hook will only fit Z51s made after 12/14/2014.

Nice equipment. A drop of oil and it screwed right on without tools. You can leave the screw part on and just install the hook at the track...

Units looked great once installed. They seem sturdy enough to do their job should I need to be pulled from the track. Problem is that after a month the front unit is rusting. I leave them in between track events as the front unit is time consuming to put in. I didn't (and don't think I should) expect it to rust in a month. I contacted the seller thru Amazon and have had no response. For the price and sturdiness these could be a 5-star item.

Great product. Just installed, feels like a quality product with weight and looks good. Front hook was easy to install on 2016 c7 Z06. Rear hook was a little more difficult after having to carefully remove bumper panel. Had to screw in a little, unscrew a little to remove excess paint from car and after about 10 minutes of fiddling with it got a good fit on rear. Will likely remove between track days as seems easy to steal. If I felt it was hard to steal and I could leave it on the car and give five stars. Otherwise great product on first impression, hopefully will last.
